This piano stool arrived yesterday and I assembled it this morning. There is a video showing you how to put it together, but really the pictorial directions are enough. It took me less than 15 minutes. There are simple screws with washers that are tightened with the 2 supplied Allen wrenches. The seat is height adjustable and it is very comfortable. I would say it is firm with just enough give. It is also very sturdy and when I began practicing piano, my full focus was on playing with no thought to the stool! Highly recommended.

Most of the wooden benches I looked at seemed to have screw-in legs that were likely to become loose, bend the attaching bolt or just strip their threads under any weight or movement. Higher end, high-priced benches – even the furniture-quality ones didn’t seem much safer. But this Liquid Stands bench is built like a trestle. I think it’s rated for 250 lbs and my 250 lbs do not budge it a bit. It remains sturdy and as immovable as an IRS agent. The range of height adjustments is wide so if you’re short or tall, it will fit you. The seat is well padded but not padded well enough for a big heavy guy over a long period of time. If you buy one and assemble it yourself, do not snug up any of the bolts until you install the cross brace. This seat is so precision-engineered that you won’t be able to slide the brace into its spot unless the bolts are all loose. Once the bolts are all tightened, the seat is like a tank – yet still light enough to be easily carried about. It fits easily and attractively beneath my Yamaha P-225 on its L-225 stand.

As at least one other reviewer pointed out, if you follow the instructions you will most definitely damage at least one of the legs. According to the booklet, the cross brace is installed after attaching the legs to the seat. Unfortunately, at this point the legs are already very stable and there is absolutely no slack for you to rotate the cross brace after sliding it in at an angle. If you try to “jam it”, the brass piece at the end of the brace will dig into the leg on its way down to its location and you will end up damaging the coating on the leg. I ended up unscrewing the triangle pieces from the legs to create some slack then pushed the brace in place. Even then, I had scratch marks on the leg. The right thing to do would be to remove (or not install) one of the legs and at least start attaching the brace to the other leg.
The actual product seems really well made. You get what you pay for, in a good way. I just wish people spent a bit more time designing the little piece of paper that comes with it…

At first I was hesitant to buy because of the price but still decided to risk and I can say I did not regret it.
1. Sturdy build.
– I like the construction. it really looks like a premium seat. welded and made of durable steel frames. honestly tried to sit with my daughter on it and it actually can carry our weights. I am not a small guy so go figure.
2. Seat foam is very comfortable.
– I was doubtful that it may sag if I sat on it which is what usually happens (lol) but to my surprise it didn’t. it was firm enough to support my weight and even if you sat on it for longer periods, you don’t feel stressed and buttocks don’t hurt. even my daughter loves it. she said it is not too hard and not too soft. in her own word “Just right and how I like it to be”.
The only CONS is the price but for me, I would rather spend than regret it on buying cheap stuff. If you value comfort and reliability, then this seat is for you. Cheers!

The thick memory foam cushion iprovides ideal comfort. Assembly is required. The istructions are clear and easy to follow. Satisfied beyond my expectations!
