If you own a Chevy or GMC truck with 6l80 or 6l90 transmission this is good for it… BEFORE you start having trouble. There is another product as well you can try for torque converter shudder called “shudder fix”. I have both down in the Yukon and it will likely save the transmission from damage until they can get the truck scheduled for repair. Very hard to get in for transmission work in our neck of the woods unless you want to spend up to 5 to six thousand CDN dollars at a brand name shop. All the smaller guys are busy as heck. Mine will cost under 3k when all is said and done. My transmission was maintain, had 2 fluid changes and still went bad without abusing it. GM are known for issues. If I’d known about this product I would have had one in it because there’s an engineering issue, not a maintenance issue, with these things. Check YouTube.

I have a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 8-speed automatic with 112,000 miles as of this writing. I did not have the TCC shutter issue, but I was having hard shift issues between 1st and 2nd gear and then when the transmission would go back in 1st gear. This product made a noticeable improvement after following the instructions on how to add it to the transmission and then over the next 500 miles, things continued to improve. My transmission now performs like I would expect a new transmission to perform – nice and smooth. Money very well spent for me!

This stuff works. It lowers the trans temp which is great for fluid life. My old fluid would heat up to 135F in about 20 minutes at idle. This was mesured by the auto’s trans temp gauge via the OBD II port. After a fluid change and adding Lubegard Platinum. The temp was 115F after about 20 minutes of idle.

Help with the hard shifting in my 2018 GMC Acadia, but don’t expect a miracle solution to fix the underlying company flawed transmission design. Would recommend using every service change. Especially with a new transmission, because that’s original transmission will be replaced by 120k miles if you want it to stop shuttering under load.

I added to my Tata Hexa with new oil. Made a whole lot of difference with shift quality and long distance drive performance.
Highly recommended with old/new atf models if you have any shift sensitivity issues or not.

This will not fix a physical problem with a transmission. It will not add friction material back to clutches. It will not fix a worn out band. Nor fix seal leaks. Nor fix O-ring issues.
What it will do is help with Torque Convertor shudders like is common on some transmissions. It will also help if you’ve changed your ATF fluid at 200,000 miles (too late in cycle) and all the friction material that was in the old fluid was actually allowing the components to shift smooth. In other words, if you changed your ATF completely and your transmission is now shifting hard. Add a bottle or two. It will make a significant difference.

My 2019 Silverado developed a shudder at 50k miles. The dealership wanted to sell me a new transmission for $8k without even pulling the pan to see what’s wrong. I took it home and drained 2 quarts of fluid, checked for metal and found none. Added some Mobil 1 fluid and Lubeguard and it shifts better than it ever has. The shudder is completely gone. Now that I know it was just a fluid issue I’m going to flush and replace it with Amsoil fluid and add Lubeguard.
