Very happy with this purchase. Lots of tips on line for setting up and tuning the Questlove Breakbeats kit.

Don’t buy it. Cheaply done, way too much.

ドラムの持ち運びが難儀になり軽量化するために購入しました。
叩き心地は80歳を超えた素人のドラム叩きなのでこのクラスで上等でした。
スタンド類の軽量化も済みましたのでこれで余命を楽しみます。

Having a scaled-down kit on the market that is advertised by Questlove Thompson is great. Hearing it is even better! Even with the stock heads Ludwig puts on this kit don’t stop the toms from sounding DOPE. Very resonate, and warm sounding. With Remo Emperor/Ambassador’s they’ll sound even better. Personally I use Fiberskyn heads for a vintage bop sound. The only reason I give this kit 4 stars is because of the snare. If you tune it up mid- tight, it sounds good, but the overall quality of the snare wires and throw off is a little disappointing. New heads and snare wires will only be around $30 to have it sound much better. The kick drum is solid, once you’ve got a good adapter-kick pedal spacing. I’m very pleased with the sound of the kit, and also the carrying bags it comes with are a classy touch.
Bottom line: A great sounding kit (once refitted with new heads and possible snare wire) that can literally fit in your back seat. Nice job, Ludwig and Questlove!

Love it!

i actually bought this kit to use it at home in my apartment for a practice electronit hybrid kit. i put remo silent stroke heads on all the drums and trigger them with Roland RT30 triggers into a Roland TD25 module and it works great! i bought this particular kit for it since its smaller and would take up less space in my tiny apartment in NYC. it was a wayy better alternative to a traditional electronic kit with tiny rubber or mesh pads. plus, i still have the regular heads if i did want to take it out to jam

Returned it. The bearing edges were chipped and broken. Seems to be a manufacturing problem.

Great sounding set. I’ve always been a Ludwig man. Remember to read item description. This is for drums only. The bass riser did not work with my Gibraltar pedal. The bass rim is kinda thick and pedal was out too far to strike head. I just clamped it on without riser. Silver sparkle is real nice. Drum away.

Superb kit. This kit replaced my Zep kit because of space restrictions. Tight yet wide sound. Records amazingly well. Perfect for city gigging, and smaller venues, blues jams etc. The 4 drums were very well matched. For this price you can’t go wrong.

Great price for a real gig worthy kit

Overall, this is a fantastic value, and would recommend to anyone looking for a compact kit. However, there are a few things you should be aware of going in.
Regardless of what internet salsemen and the like will tell you about the “big bass drum sound,” at the end of the day, it is still a 16 inch kick. For my purpose, which is mostly jazz, it does just fine. But just be aware that it is simply never going to be quite as boomy or as loud as a normal sized bass drum. It’s a small compromise for the portability, but a compromise nonetheless.
Additionally, the snare drum is pretty much unacceptable if you try to use it the way that it comes out of the box. Super ringy, hoops are too thin, etc.
Many people I know simply use a different snare drum with the rest of this kit, but I decided to try my hardest to get the breakbeats snare to sound good, and in doing so, spent quite a bit of extra money. I replaced the batter side hoop with an 8 lug gibraltar die cast hoop, and used an evans hybrid drumhead. I also went ahead and put puresound 30 snare strands on the bottom for good measure. The result is a pretty good sounding drum. With the amount of money I spent on it just in the hoop, head, and snare strands, I probably could have just bought another snare drum. But hey, at least I have a snare that matches the rest of the kit.
Also, don’t try to transport your drums in the bags that come with. They are definitely only suited to dampening the drums, and I thoroughly do not trust them to hold up in transit what-so-ever.
These were all things I was fairly certain of going in. Everything else about the kit is fantastic. The toms, my favorite part, sound incredible. I usually tune mine fairly high to more of a “bop” sound, but I noticed that they sound great in a more typical, lower tuning as well.
