I’ve collected these movies since they came out on VHS which I still own but now that I own them on 4K the only issue I encountered was getting the wrong digital codes. No problem, I contacted Amazon and they corrected the issue and are sending me the correct codes by email. Very satisfied with the customer service. By the way I got codes for The Justice League which I already have.

Picture clear and good quality will buy again

Beautiful packaging and contrary to some experiences none of my discs were scratched and everything slid in and out relatively easily at least to someone used to the same thing from the Avatar 4Ks.
The only thing that makes me take a star away is that they could have easily upgraded the Fury Road Black & Chrome to a 4K but alas we still have a blu ray and Mad Max is missing the original commentary and the bonus features from that included blu ray. BUT still a great set that should hold up really well over the years. If you are going to watch them frequently, might be a good idea to put them in a binder to avoid annoyance

At 54 years old, I have seen all of these films multiple times, especially the more recent installments and I unapologetically LOVE all of these movies, George Miller, and the grit and passion that went into these films. I thought Furiosa was fantastic and though I want more Mad Max movies from George Miller, I expect that these 5 films will be it! Upgrading to 4K was a no-brainer when it came to this series and the presentation of this set, the picture and sound quality matched with the abundant extra features make this a MUST HAVE! I was reluctant to buy the set because I couldn’t find verification that Furiosa: Black and Chrome was included in the set, but took the risk and it paid off! If you are a lover of escapist cinema and practical effects and mind-blowing stunts, this is a great set!

This is nice to have the entire Saga in one place w/o burdening my Video shelf. Tape is great.

First, this is a review of the Mad Max 5-Film Collection on DVD, NOT the 4K set release. I am not even sure that there even IS a blu-ray five film collection because I could not find one although it what I wanted. For an all five movie collection I could only find this DVD or the 4K set, and since I do not have a 4K player or 4K TV that format is out.
Also this review deals only with the quality of the DVD set and what you get in it, not the movies themselves. If you are not already familiar with the films there are plenty of reviews out there for you to read. I couldn’t find ANY for the DVD set itself so I’m writing my own here to help others wondering if this DVD set is worth taking a chance on.
What led me to buy this is that I recently saw Furiosa and liked it a lot so I wanted to pick it up on blu-ray or DVD. However looking for it up here I stumbled upon this five film collection.
I already have DVD releases for The Road Warrior and Fury Road but not Mad Max, Beyond Thunderdome, or Furiousa and this combo price of about $27 seemed too good to pass up for all five DVDs/movies. I also had hoped the transfer of Road Warrior would be an upgrade from the very old 1997 DVD that I have, and looked fwd to watching all the movies again since I have not seen the first three films for a very long time, not since the old VHS days.
Upon opening this DVD case my first reaction was of confusion – instead of five DVDs inside the case there are only four, and the case only has sections to hold four discs instead of five. I was preparing to contact Amazon to return the set since it looked like one DVD was not included, but then I decided to take a closer look at all the discs and then realized that the second DVD actually contains two movies – Road Warrior AND Thunderdome. That in itself is disappointing, since it means the quality of those will be rather low.
I did a quick check of playing the first two DVDs which contain the original trilogy and the quality is pretty disappointing. Road Warrior looks like my original ’97 DVD (perhaps worse?). Thunderdome is pretty low quality as well and Mad Max is not much better even though it is on its own DVD.
Checking the DVD for Fury Road it appears to be the same DVD contents as what I already have, including the totally annoying seven sets of movie previews which you must manually press the SKIP button on your remote for each one since the disc will not allow you to go to the Main Menu directly to actually watch the movie. And this set omits the Special Features DVD that came with the DVD version I already have, which I kind of expected so no biggie there.
Then checking the DVD for Furiosa I was afraid it was defective because it took about 2 minutes for it to even startup! I was about to take it out and try a different player but as soon as I decided to do that it finally started playing (went right to the menu with no annoying previews thankfully).
So in summary If you are looking for a cheap way to pick up all the movies, with no extras, and not perfect quality this set may be for you.
I am going to keep an eye out to try to find a blu-ray quality set for all 5 films (hopefully with extras) or perhaps someday even pick those all up separately if they are on sale.

I had looked forward to getting this box set for months, love all the Mad Max films, one of my all time favorites.
As soon as I received it, I noticed the case is not that great other than the graphics (which are awesome of course). This comes with the sleeve design which from experience, is always terrible for the discs themselves. Sometimes I wonder if they do that intentionally to guarantee people will be buying again in the future, due to over wear and tear on the edge of the discs. Then I notice that the inside sleeves are actually damaged. The corners were all bent and the Furiosa sleeve had a big indentation that was creased way in. So I’m worried right from the get go, needless to say.
The discs that are single sleeve seem fine, however all of them are very hard to pull out. You can barely pull out without getting finger prints on the edges of the discs, so that essentially means you have to clean every time you want to watch which is super annoying. The discs that have the chrome versions are next to impossible to get out and back in.
Then I receive an email from Amazon stating the digital codes received in in the set are incorrect. They provided instructions on how to get the correct ones. I follow them and of course, it’s this colossal pain in the you know what. They totally act as if your some sort of digital pirate trying to scam them even though you’re the one that was put out and didn’t receive what you had purchased.
Today, I try and put in Furiosa and the disc will not load or play, right now it’s stuck in my player because it’s stuck in loading mode. Genuis!! I was thoroughly irritated and reached out to Amazon customer service. I am returning the box set to them for a full refund. I feel like WB just got plain sloppy on this. I’ve never had this issue with any of their releases before now, this is just an absolute shame and I would encourage anyone to steer clear of this release.
