MAGIX Movie Studio 2025 Suite: Video Editor

Ich habe in der Vergangenheit schon einige Videoschnittprogramme in Verwendung gehabt, unter anderem auch Adobe Premiere Pro, (damals noch Sony) VEGAS (gehört heute auch zu MAGIX) und das auch kostenlos nutzbare DaVinci Resolve.
Nun habe ich die Gelegenheit gehabt, auch mal MAGIX VIdeo deluxe 2025 in der Premium Version auszuprobieren. Entgegen der anderen ist das Programm sehr erschwinglich und man benötigt kein Abo, muss sich bei neuen Versionen aber ein Upgrade kaufen, wenn man von den neuen Funktionen profitieren möchte.
Vom Aufbau her ist es glücklicherweise ähnlich aufgebaut wie die anderen Programme. Man findet seine Timeline und die üblichen Panels für Videovorschau, setzen von In- und Out-Points, Dateiverwaltung und Effekte. Hier muss ich aber sagen, dass das Interface sehr gedrungen wirkt und sich vergleichsweise schwer bedienen lässt. Selbst wenn man eine hohe Bildschirmauflösung verwendet, hat man einen relativ schlechten Überblick, da effektiv sehr wenig gleichzeitig angezeigt werden kann. Hier sollten einige Bedienelemente kleiner gestaltet werden, damit man besser arbeiten kann. Man muss schon extrem viel scrollen und sieht wie gesagt immer nur recht wenig, selbst wenn man die Anzeige so kompakt wie möglich einstellt.
Ansonsten sind alle Basics vorhanden, man kann also schon relativ gut damit arbeiten, wenn man sich mit dem Interface anfreunden kann. Sprich man kann mehrere Video- und Audiospuren anlegen und mit entsprechenden Effekten versehen, Überblendungen nutzen, Schnitte setzen usw., wobei alles ein wenig einfacher gestaltet ist und man vergleichsweise wenig einstellen kann. Für Einsteiger in der Form vermutlich nicht schlecht, aber fortgeschrittene Nutzer werden an Grenzen stoßen.
Bei den Effekten sind auch interessante Basics dabei, wie Chroma-Key, Videostabilisierung, Unterstützung für 360 Grad Videos, aber nichts ausgefalleneres. Naja, abgesehen von den neuen KI-Funktionen. Diese habe ich ehrlich gesagt aber gar nicht erst umfassend ausprobiert, da manches praktisch nur eine Demo ist. Man hat ein bestimmtes, sehr kleines zeitliches Kontingent und wird, möchte man die Funktionen dann über das Ausprobieren hinaus verwenden, wird man dieses laufend nachkaufen müssen. Zum Beispiel darf man die “KI Speech to Text”-Funktion in der Premium-Version des Programms lediglich 10 Minuten im Monat (!) kostenlos nutzen, “KI Text to Speech” “immerhin” 2500 Zeichen im Monat. Wenn man jetzt regelmäßig Videos erstellt und diese Funktionen nutzen möchte, kann man sich denken, wie weit man damit kommt. Finde ich auch schade, dass man diesen Hinweis nicht auf der Produktseite hier findet, sondern nur (und auch nur versteckt auf einer Unterseite) auf der Hersteller Webseite.
Zumindest scheinen andere KI-Funktionen wie der KI Colorizer nicht derartig beschnitten zu sein (allerdings verstehe ich da z.B. nicht, was das mit KI zu tun haben soll, das sind einfache Slider, mit denen man recht mühsam Farbstiche korrigieren oder bspw. das ganze Bild blau einfärben kann, mit der Einstellung “Luminanz-Optimierung: Auf Ausgabe einstellen” werden die Slider automatisch eingestellt – aber es sieht nicht wirklich gut oder besser aus?). Auch die KI-Stilübertragung war soweit nicht zufriedenstellend – mit den mitgelieferten Testclips bekomme ich da nur einen unerkennbaren Pixelbrei, aber vielleicht geht da mit hochauflösenderen Clips mehr.
Generell ist das Programm in Ordnung und für den Preis durchaus nutzbar. Es ist offensichtlich, dass es nicht mit professioneller Software mithalten kann und soll. Trotzdem ist die Bedienung komplizierter als nötig. Einige Funktionen sind weniger ansprechend, als es die Produktseite suggeriert. Die Folgekosten der Nutzung bestimmter Funktionen sollten für den Kunden transparenter dargestellt werden, um falsche Erwartungen zu vermeiden.

Programm hat einen guten Funktionsumfang und lässt sich leicht bedienen. Auch das Ergebnis ist gut. Was ich ärgerlich finde, ist das Modell der Zusatz Addins wie Text to Speech, bei dem man nur ein sehr begrenztes Jahreskontingent an Zeichen hat, was bei mir gerade einmal für ein einziges Video reichte. Ich habe auch keine Option gefunden, um es wieder aufzufüllen, also bleibt wohl nur ein weiteres Jahr zu warten, oder für diesen Teil zu einem anderen Anbieter zu wechseln?!

Wie bereits vielfach in den Forten beschrieben. Entweder fehlt der Zugangscode oder er ist falsch. Ware geht zurück. Ich hatte vor vielen Jahren von Magix schon ein Musik und Video Programm. Auch damals funktionierte einiges nicht. Ich dachte, dass dieserMangel 2024 nicht mehr bestehlt. Ab sofort denke ich nicht mehr. Doch einmal noch. Ich denke, ich kaufe von Magix nichts mehr.

I’m a novice at making video content and wanted something that was powerful and easy to use. Installing it was mostly okay. I was a bit perplex on how to get all of the plugins installed, but eventually figured it out. I found the workflow to be similar to other video editing software such as Clip Champ and DaVinci Resolve. The thing that set this software apart is the variety of plugins and effects. A lot of the effects were easy to use such as image stability. I found that there is a learning curve to master some effects. For example, I’m still trying to figure out object tracking. Fortunately, there is a handy manual that I was able to download from the help menu.

Rendering is fast. It takes advantage of my Nvidia GPU to do video encoding. The resulting video is clear without any noticeable artifacts. The renderer allows me to choose from a variety of content types and I was able to easily turn my work in progress into a fully realized video.

One thing I’m most excited about in this software is all of the options around 3D. I love that this software has a focus on making 3D content a reality. This supports video taken from side-by-side cameras.

Overall, I like the software. It is fast, stable, and has plenty of effects. I’m still working on overcoming the learning curve, but so far, I haven’t found anything that limits me from creating fun content.
