Been using LP foot tambourine with my cajon but I’m a heel-up player and outside it’s not always loud enough. This is louder. Higher-pitched, which I don’t like as much, but not a dealbreaker. For max volume, I actually use both. It took a little getting used to; timing it was different and initially it jingled at the back of the beat, but after a couple uses I can now land it right on the beat. You need a strap; it slides and flops around without one. Velcro makes a nice 1 inch wide by 15 inch long elastic strap with a buckle and Velcro tab that works great. The tambourine won’t center on your heel cord; it’ll find a home just off to either side and the strap will keep it there comfortably. I’ve worn it with sneakers and with docksiders and it stays in place. I’m finding it to be a great design and am going to buy the Meinl shoehorn shaker for my other foot.

A parte no suena mucho. Suena mejor la que se coloca en la puntera, esa sรญ la aconsejo

I have the other Meinl tambourine for foot tapping that works great. However, this one for the heel does not work well at all if not in the ‘sweet spot’ and slides around while playing. I tried different shoes, right or left foot during several individual sittings. Some may say โyour shoes are too big.โ Not the case. When you lift your heel, of course your toes are going to move forward ever so slightly and create just a little space for the heel tambourine ‘shoehorn part’ to shift sideways out of place and become useless. When in the sideways position, it’s extremely uncomfortable and the ‘jingles’ (industry term, not mine) don’t sound off. Great idea Meinl and I have several of your products but, this one just doesn’t work well, and I wish I wouldn’t have purchased it. It’s no longer in my bag of goodies because it just took up valuable space. I would not recommend this product.

This heel tambourine is so simple to use.
It sounds great and was very inexpensive.

This item seems fine however when I opened the amazon package it was obvious that this item had been used and returned. The people at Zorro just put everything in the mailing envelope separately. Tambourine detached from the packaging and a crumpled plastic back. Zero effort to put these items together to even make it look like a new product.
I will be returning this.
This is no reflection on Meinl. I have many Meinl products which I love

Would have been cheaper, price wise, we’re it to be, MADE IN CHINA!, (give me a rake!). Works ok in back of heel, but prefer to use it in front , under the tongue of shoe, way more control timing wise, love this๐!
