This is a solid snare for a beginner or a professional, it’s really good for low volume gigs just due to the way the shells bearing edge is cut and rolled inward. I’m my opinion though it’s really crisp, sensitive and articulate. The only small, miniscule gripe I have is that the throw off lever on my snare is different from the one pictured in the listing, but, on the other side of that, it’s actually an impressive lever for this price point, I’d definitely recommend it to a professional for a low cost “beater” snare (obviously though it’s definitely worth the money though.

Bought this for my 9 year old who is starting band in school. It was in the long run, cheaper to purchase for $100 opposed to renting it for $20/mo through a company the school uses. It shipped quickly and was already all set in it’s carrying case when I unboxed it! This made it easy for him to just bring to school and tote back and forth. Great value.
