Before I start, I would just like to mention that I was given this headset as a review unit from Merge. This review, however, will be my own opinions and feelings about the product and are not there simply to promote it.
First things first, this headset is very close to the perfect combination. What I mean by that is when you look at many types of VR rigs on the market from google cardboard to the oculus rift, A simple way to describe it is a bridge between the two. Merge VR has a great build quality and a lot more professional features but offers the simplicity and ease of cardboard. Basically all you have to do is launch a virtual reality app, slide your phone in, and enjoy.
Now like I just said, the build is great, but if you thought this was made of a very hard material, it deceiving, but it’s not. Actually, the entire exterior of the device is foam. This offers a lot more comfort when wearing and generally makes it a lot lighter which means: first, it’s less bulky, and second, it doesn’t weigh you down as you’re using it. On the topic of comfort, they also supply an optional head band which makes the experience even better. If you are a person who uses the cardboard camera app as well, that piece in the bottom left corner does come out.
One feature they implemented that I have never seen anywhere else is the ability to adjust the lenses to how far apart your eyes are. This may not mean much to you, but you would be surprised how useful this feature is. The tops of both sliders are where merge places the buttons to be able to interact with many of the games and other apps.
So the most important part of any VR unit is the picture, and I gotta say, it’s pretty great. There is a good amount of clarity, and it’s very nice to look at for a few minutes. Make sure you take note that the merge looks the best on larger phones with a 1080p display or higher. If you have a smaller phone, you will see the edges and is not nearly as immersive. I did try to use many smaller smartphones, and I can tell you that this definitely did come as a problem.
Overall, I would totally recommend Merge VR. There are a lot of nice implementations that make this more than just a basic headset. If you have the money, and you want a great phone VR experence, you should totally pick one up for yourself.

Molto buoni, ottima qualità , un po’ scomoda la rimozione del dispositivo. La plastica morbida è comoda, bene pulsanti interattivi. Compatibile ios/android

This is a really good VR headset, fits my iPhone 8plus perfectly, easy to adjust head straps and a extra top strap included for a more secure fit, the best thing I like is you can adjust the lenses inside to fit individuals perfectly.

The first thing I noticed when I received the Merge VR was the quality of the packaging. It is almost Apple-like; so very good in my book.
I have zero experience with VR headsets and found set up to be very intuitive. I downloaded a handful of apps suggested on the Merge VR start website, installed the optional head strap, and installed my phone. I own an iPhone 6S and use the Apple leather case. It fits in the Merge VR headset very well. It is easy to get in and out but holds it securely in place. I also like to add that these found their way into my two year old daughters hands without my knowing for about 5 minutes and survived completely unscathed.
The straps were actually adjusted perfectly for my head right out of the box so I didn’t have to adjust them but I did for my wife and it was a total non-issue. The headset is comfortable and light but having any amount of weight hanging off the front of your face takes a little getting used to. It does feel pretty secure once on though and I did not find myself having to hold it in place. It did make my face sweat a little and I didn’t even realize it until I took them off; nice that they didn’t slip even with the moisture. Some have talked about heat build up but my phone never seemed to get any hotter than it normally does when using taxing apps.
The first app I tried out was actually a Cardboard app. I launched it, put the headset on, and felt like I was cross-eyed and seeing double. However, finding and adjusting then lenses with the headset on was know problem at all. Once everything came into focus all I can say is “wow”. Pretty incredible experience for me! I watched some baby gorilla swinging around in front of me. I looked to the right and literally flinched back at what I assume was momma gorilla right up in my face!
You navigate through apps using a combination of looking around and pressing down on two buttons on the top of the headset. I found it fairly easy to navigate but did sometimes have to press multiple times to get it to recognize my inputs. This could also have something to do with the apps themselves though. I don’t have enough experience with it yet to know though. Luckily there are plenty of free apps to choose from.

Bought for a Christmas present for my 9 year old son and he absolutely loves it. We have downloaded VR apps and he enjoys using it. Bundle with the merge cube and great STEM present.

It’s comfortable and offers everything you need to get going, but it’s limited by the phone. My iPhone 7 (with 2:1 pixel density) is actually low resolution when zoomed in with lenses. The iPhone 7 Plus (with 3:1 pixel density) would probably look a bit better, but you really do need extremely high resolutions for believable VR.
The Google Daydream looks interesting as well, but I don’t want to maintain the handset’s charge.
