I have this clamped to a side table next to our sofa. The mount is solid and the cord has plenty of length. If your outlet is nearby you might find the cord too long. Both USB ports work but the unit makes a buzzing noise when a USB port is in use.

We have a table in our guest room for visitors to use. I originally had a power strip sitting on the table to provide power for guests but it kept sliding around and of course took up space. I bought this and it easily clamped to the edge, where it stays, no sliding around and keeping the table clear. It provides an angled power strip of 2 outlets plus one USB A and one USB C power outlets. I tested both power outlets with a USB tester and they looked good. We recently had a guest use it and they commented how convenient it was. They plugged in a laptop power adapter and used the USB C and everything worked great.

We had cables strewn across our office table to charge various devices including the laptop. Now we can charge the MacBook directly from the relatively high power USB-C charge port on this unit. With this we then anchored where our other chargers and desk light plug in and reduced how many cables were needed to traverse the table. Since it solidly connects to the edge of an unused portion of our desk it turns wasted space into something useful. I’m glad they make this form factor it’s really helpful.

I got a couple of them for my kids on Christmas with other items, at first they looked at me like “Who cares, and thanks?” we already got other gifts we wanted.
I answered Parents see what you “need” vs. what you “want”…YES of course I got them gifts they want lol!
I hooked them up to their desks and now they can’t live without them, the chargers work great, the item is not bulky, they don’t need to reach under the desk, bang their heads, cables get tangled, pulled, I have to get extenders for their cables…It’s the small things in life that make it easier day-to-day.
