My previous set of Mikasa dinnerware was fantastic – elegant yet durable, standing up to years of use. This set seems to be of dubious quality, however. Most of the pieces have had their glazing removed after a few months of dishwasher use. A real disappointment.
New is not always better –
I’m using china for everyday and it’s great for entertaining, too. Bowls are bigger than regular cereal ones and stick together if you stack more than 4. Don’t fit in dishwasher very well either.

I was unable to find another set for under $450.00, so when these came up on Amazon for this price, I wasted no time. This is a service for 4, and Costco is offering these again now in a service for 8 at $10.00 less than this (so twice the dishes for less). Anyhow, this dinnerware is well worth the price and I just love the quality and the pattern.
