I’ve had this switch in place now for just over 2 months. I did my research before I bought it and knew what it could do well and what it could not do well, so I wasn’t surprised into making a bad review for something I should have known before I bought this device.
Let me get it out of the way: If you want a 10Gb router (RouterOS), look elsewhere, it’s very well advertised you won’t get 10Gb routed out of this device. Devices will link in RouterOS at 10Gb but it just can’t handle that traffic in RouterOS
As a 10Gb switch (SwOS), it’s perfect for just being a 10Gb switch. I’m personally using LAGG, VLAN’s and SNMP on it. It has additional capabilities as just a switch that I am not using. I’m using four different types of SFPs (3 copper, 1 fiber) and all work fine. I’m also powering it from an Ubiquiti USW-16-POE switch which is a bonus for me.
Is it super flashy? No, the UI is pretty bare however I didn’t want it for the configuration interface, I wanted it for 10Gb switch and in that aspect it’s perfect. The UI is functional. Don’t be afraid of the CLI!
The one thing I don’t really like but it’s not an issue: I wish the switch was centered in the rack mount ears rather than aligned to the left. The rack mount “ears” feel flimsy but I haven’t physically touched the switch since getting everything connected, so not an issue.
So, to beat this dead horse further, if you need a 10Gb *SWITCH* with 8 ports, then you can’t go wrong with this switch. Just make sure to switch it from RouterOS to SwOS.

Not sure why the other reviewer had the issues he did, but I have bought 2 of these devices and simply plugged them in and they worked. I DO know that these can be programmed for use as either a router or an unmanaged switch so possibly the unit he received was flashed with the router version of software. I feel for him as it looks like he had nothing but issues and that is never fun. In my case no issues at all and set one up in my office and the other in my man cave and connected together with a 30 meter fiber cable and all is well. Also purchased several NICs and am now running 10Gig on my desktop and 2 others as well as a 10 Gig NAS and 3 ESXI hosts also running 10GIG. Data transfers from the ESXI hosts to the NAS absolutely FLY and the Desktop connection is also very fast albeit slightly slower transfers probably due to moving between 2 switches. (IE the desktop is connected to one switch and the NAS is connected to the 2nd switch.) All in all I am very pleased with these units but I will say that the other reviewer was correct when stating that the software is klunky at best and downright crappy at worst. Chinese half@#@$ software for sure, but it DOES work when you muddle through it. For the price I will take that tradeoff as the equipment simply WORKS.

I purchased this for my business and I’m impressed with what it can do. In a real world scenario where I’m copying large data across my network, I was able to reach speeds around 5gbps (640MBps) however it’s highly likely that my storage hardware was the bottleneck that restricted it from going faster. Even though I never fully maxed out the 10gb connection, having speeds that are 5x faster is definitely worth the upgrade.
The feel of the product feels rather cheap with very thin metal enclosure but then again, I can’t complain when you look at the price.

Works just like the higher end SFP28 Mikrotik switches. Easy to setup, works with any transceiver I’ve plugged into it, and provides full 10gb per port (verified with Iperf3). Talks to my other switches (both el cheapo Realtek switches) at 10gb.

Bought this two years ago (Feb 2021) to replace a QNAP one that had some issues with connectivity and was out of warranty.
I’m using this as a switch and have been running it unmanaged for last two plus years 24/7 no issues whatsoever. Mine isn’t rack mounted or anything, it’s just sitting on a table, powered off an UPS. Great performance. Nothing fancy just a home office / gaming room setup, using mixed fiber/ethernet transceivers.
Figured I’d review since looking to buy another for another office setup.

This does what it says on the tin and provides 10Gbps switching throughout per SFP+ port.
Only problem is that it boots up as a router.
This requires significantly more configuration for people like me who just want to share their brand new super fast 5Gbps fiber connection with their computers.
Significantly more configuration that, after hours of dealing with inexplicable password resets that don’t actually work (reset your password, change the address space, change our manual IP, and…get locked out? This might have something to do with the router having zero firewall rules, which isn’t great when your main gateway is in IP Passthrough mode…), gives you…a slow router?
I could not manage to crank out more than 2.7Gbps when this was set up as a router. The CPU screams and it gets super hot.
I’m still giving it three stars because it’s a great switch for the price, but setting it up was incredibly frustrating.

Just took few minutes to start using the switch. First switched to SwitchOS, then changed management IP to match my needs and that’s all. Used Twinax DAC cables of different brands – All worked fine. On the server, had used ASUS XG-C100F.

Come da oggetto, ho trovato l’apparecchio prestazionale e di buona fattura. Non ho a disposizione misurazioni effettive delle velocità di trasferimento dati, ma è silenzioso (il che non è poco) ed, al momento, affidabile

I bought this to replace the Sodola 12 port switch that was too loud. The Mikrotik cost more, but I was able to sleep in the same room with it. No issues with speed or reliability so far. I have only used 10gb modules.
