Build quality that surrounds the body of my Surface Pro 9 here is excellent in the terms of protecting it from drops or bumps but here is where I get a little bit…subjective and hence my one star. First is the aluminum kickstand for the tablet does not get protected from this case so there is this “void” on the back, which in my eyes seem very awkward. This void will make the kickstand vulnerable to scratches/dings so be aware of this if you care about the look of the kickstand. Second, the charge port on the right side of the tablet is difficult to insert as the design here is more of aesthetic look. The USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 ports are good so no problems there except if you have specific peripherals that turn the 2 ports for other I/O devices, you will have to avoid this case e.g. those peripherals that hug and plug the edge of the devices, similar to those for MacBook Pros. If you have peripherals like hubs, you’re good here. Lastly, I do not like the vents on the top of the body as I am worried about heat displacement here now versus when I had no case originally. Also forgot to add here but, there is some weird type rubber pull like tab on the top right of this case so I have no idea what its purpose here.
Any way, if you are those like myself that like the aesthetic look of both front and back side of the Microsoft Surface 8,9, or X like the kickstand then I would avoid this case. However, if you do not mind scratches/dings on the kickstand and just need protection of the tablet body, this case is excellent.
For now, I needed this when I had no case original when I bought my Surface Pro 9 and will be holding onto it until I find a better case altogether. Hopefully my next case, whichever it is, will be all around (the whole tablet and maybe the keyboard) or a polycarbonate case that not only protects the tablet but also protects the kickstand on the back.

Having bought a Surface Pro and knowing that I would be taking it place, I knew that eventually I would drop it. I bought this case to protect the my tablet and sure enough I have dropped it. The case did exactly what I needed it to do. The stand portion has also been amazing and well worth the money. I have yet to use the hand holding part yet but I am sure it will come in handy. The case protects the tablet well while also providing space for the keyboard. I would recommend this product.

The case was easy to put on, seems secure, lets the stand come out without issue. Also the buttons and ports are in the right place and function great. Only things I would change would be loosening the hand strap and making a small cutout to let you get the keyboard down easier.
Update! After a week of use, this has already saved me! The Surface fell out of my bag in a parking lot and was perfectly fine. Case only got a small scrape.
