Extremely durable with high quality, though it’s too much of a waste to use in school for lecture notes taking.
I would suggest using it as a travel journal, small and easy to be carried all over town, and the notebook is too small to be used as a scrapbook.
The ink doesn’t smudge on the pages, and it dries rather quickly.

I have never been able to keep a journal for more than a few days before I stop writing. However, with the Moleskine notebook, I’m enjoying writing in it so much that I’m writing entries several times a day for the following reasons: (1) The size: This is a small notebook, only 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches. I do not feel overwhelmed by writing enough to fill the page like I did in a standard size journal. It is just the right size to fit into a purse. (2) The quality of the paper is outstanding. I use a Monte Blanc pen and it glides over the pages and does not bleed through to the other side. (3) The hard cover makes an excellent board to support my writing.
I have a short-term memory loss. I purchased another Moleskine in a different color to keep in my purse and jot down notes of people I meet, so it is easier to recognize them on the next encounter. Also, my notes make me appear very interested in the person by remembering (through reading my notes) what we discussed on our previous encounter.
Next Christmas or birthday, everyone on my list will receive one of these great little notebooks.
It is now March 2nd and I am two thirds through the book. I have continued to write journal entries daily since January. There is something about this book that makes one want to write. I have just ordered another one and will continue to do so until I can no longer write.

Mi trovo molto bene con questo piccolo taccuino, lo uso da qualche mesetto.
Ritengo che sia molto utile per quelle persone che, come me, hanno l’ispirazione artistica (sia nel disegno che nella scrittura) in momenti completamente casuali e inaspettati. Prima di questo taccuino, non avevo niente su cui scrivere o disegnare (a meno che non mi trovassi a scuola con un quaderno davanti) e quindi dovevo sforzarmi di ricordare quello che avevo pensato, ma inevitabilmente dopo quel momento la foga dell’ispirazione improvvisa diminuisce, e il risultato non è più lo stesso.
Invece, questa Moleskine (è molto piccola, vi consiglio prima di guardare le dimensioni a casa, con righello, foglio e penna) mi ha salvata da questo problema: infatti non è affatto ingombrante, può essere messa sia in zaino che in borsa, e comunque abbastanza grande da accogliere poesiole e disegnini vari (o comunque delle bozze da sviluppare in futuro).
Utile anche per chi viaggia tanto, come me. Sempre a portata di mano.
Le pagine sono color crema chiaro, e in fondo alla Moleskine è presente una curiosa taschina. Dotata anche di un segnalibro di stoffa (quello presente anche nei diari) di color viola chiaro. Ovviamente il prodotto di per sé, è di ottima qualità: un ottimo mix tra eleganza e resistenza.
Talvolta ci appunto anche le cosa devo fare durante la giornata o cose di questo genere.
Consigliato per chi cerca comodità e utilità.

I’m a moleskine addict. I love the history of this little book. The quality of this journal surpasses all others. I’ve employed quite a few journals in my past, but this little gem holds up like no other. The binding is sturdy, the cover takes a beating and keeps coming back, and most importantly, the pocket in the back stays put. I usually have at least one, sometimes two, of these journals on my person at all times.
The paper bound into these journals is luxurious, the kind of stuff that your pen longs to caress.
But the best feature is the owner information in the front cover with the statement:

Because you know that the secrets you keep in your moleskine are priceless.

I’ve always heard about Moleskine notebooks, and this is the first one that I’ve ever had. I really like this, and now I’m always going to use nice notebooks, instead of the budget notebooks that I have been using. This is extremely high quality. I carry it around everywhere and I use it a lot. It’s extremely comfortable to write on, and the spine holds up no matter how much bending or pressure that I put on it.
This one is a small, unlined one, but Moleskine has lined and squared versions, and much bigger notebooks, too. For me, this size is perfect, because I can also put this in my back pocket, if I need to. I also like that there isn’t a huge Moleskine logo on it. It’s very classy, but not conspicuous. I also really like the strap, which I didn’t think I would need, but I use it all the time to close my notebok.

Yesterday I received in the mail a replacement book directly form Moleskine. So I have upped my star rating from 3 to 4 stars. I am deducting a star for lack of communication, but I am very glad they stepped up and sent a new book. Upon inspection of the book, I may add the final star if all is well.
I really want to like these notebooks, and at least the company standing behind their products, makes me a feel better about buying expensive little notebooks. 🙂
ORIGINAL REVIEW——–
I received the notebook, and I was really excited. I had wanted it for a while but never really bothered to buy it. I had had the thinner soft cover notebook in the same size and really liked it. I was looking forward liking the elastic band and the place holder.
I came in to the book knowing that the pages were thin….and for the most part is a non issue. I just don’t use the deep ink sharpies or gel pens….but regular pens and pencils work just fine.
My real issue was the silk place holder….the little strip is fraying pretty badly since I received the notebook. I didn’t bother to send it back thinking I could apply some heat, and problem solved…well I was wrong…it’s made of silk so it does not melt. I wrote to moleskine and took a picture of the defect, but I have not heard back from them in any way shape or form.
I guess I am disappointed…I expected higher quality and better response from a company that touts their quality products and goes as far as putting quality control stickers in every book they sell.
I can’t say that I will not buy them again….but for the price point, I think I like the canson brand a little bit better. They offer thicker sheets (mainly targeting artists), good materials, and low prices by comparison.

I got this for the wife, as a gift. She’s love the look and feel. If fits in her purse (she is a small purse lady) perfectly. She has said it’s a little hard to write in on the go but she’s still very happy with it. She wants to try the soft cover for her purse. I got the blank pages by mistake, she wanted the lined pages. Lol so double check. She now wants a larger hard cover one for work.
