I only had this ball for under 3 weeks but the ball is already deflating even after moistening the needle first and using a thin needle to lessen the chance for the valve to be damaged even after checking the air pressure.

The ball overall feels great for sets because of the hexagon textures, libero is just soft in contact and feels great to receive, the fact that maybe in a few months, this ball may be unusable because of deflations, I may have received poor quality ball or that this seller sells fake ball, or maybe it’s both.

The ball looks like the original but it may be fake due to the deflation annoyance it does.

    Cheers to volleyball.

When I unboxed the ball i was super excited to finally have another nice new ball. It did not come inflated so I pumped it up to the correct specifications. When it was fully pumped up I noticed that it was not in good condition at all. The exterior feel was great but something on the inside “i am assuming the blatter” was not in the correct shape. There was a huge oddly shaped lump on one side of it. After hearing that it may just need to be played with and beaten in, I did so. Still the ball is misshapen. If I were you I would not trust them and I would head over to Dicks Sporting goods and find one that comes inflated. If the owner sees this I am willing to give you another shot but it would have to be in perfect condition and Free. Thanks.

Super nice volleyball. The best one out there. You pay for it though. My wife plays rec league volleyball. We have tried multiple different balls. This one is by far the best.

This is the new ball for NCAA and USAV Adult volleyball.

I like it a lot. I’ll compare it to the pro touch since that is what this ball is replacing.

It has a more… plush outer layer that does a couple things different. It is more tacky, making setting a lot easier than the sometimes slippery pro touch.

It is less bouncy. When passing, you’ll need to give it a little extra push. It tends to ‘die’ on the arms a little bit. Not a bad thing, just an adjustment.

That bouncy thing again. It doesn’t hit as hard. It won’t fly off of your hand like the pro touch will.

Because of the outer surface and the way it bounces, you tend to gain a little more control when hitting . With the tacky surface and the reluctance to rebound off of your hand when you swing, your contact time with the ball seems longer. This makes swinging shots (like roll shots, cut shots) a little easier to do. You can put more spin on the ball.

When I pepper with this ball, it tends to hurt a little more. I think that because it doesn’t rebound off a surface as well, it is transfering more energy into your body (arms). I also find that I need a ‘stronger’ passing platform (vs. beach) because the ball wants to push part of your platform down. Keep your arms more rigid.

The red and blue ball is the same as the green one that this review is on.

This is the most enjoyable ball I’ve ever hit, going back to a Tachikara just feels wrong (standard Molten’s are still good, but this one takes the cake). It’s a bit hard to pass at first, you need to break it in or deflate it just a tiny bit, but the feel and sound when you crush this ball is amazing.

I’m not a setter, but everybody seems to like this ball at our league, it has a very fine pattern on the surface that makes it more grippy.

I’m not sure how the quality is in general for this ball, but mine held up pretty well for over a year of hard pounding against the gym floor (warmup against a wall, warmup hits, hitting drills, regular game, etc). It has developed a barely noticeable bulge, you have to touch it really carefully to notice, it still works fine. I’m convinced that if I treated my Tachikara how I treated this ball the panels would have started falling off already.

    10/10 would buy again.

I’ve been waiting to buy this ball after purchasing the Mikasa yellow and blue ball used in official games as they are both high tier balls. This ball has definitely met my expectations, it’s softer and the material of the ball is gripier.
I think this is a good alternative for the Mikasa and both are great options for volleyballs, it just depends on what you’re willing to spend for each of the balls (even though they are relatively the same in price)
In the end, it’s your preference 🙂

plastic-y so it doesnt feel as soft as other models, use it for VB practice and some players have said that its harder, bought at the same time as the blue/white/red, and that one feels the usual soft leather.
