Wer einmal ein edles Schreibgefühl mit dem besten Füller auf bestem Papier erleben möchte, wird mit diesem Sketchbook von Montblanc etwas Neues erleben. Wenn nicht schon 85g/m2 premium Papier mit Linien und Silver Cut Rändern „Made in Italy“ nicht schon für sich sprechen, so gelingt das beim ersten berühren. 775g schwer und 26,3 x 21,5 cm groß uns 1,6 cm dick und mit edlem Montblanc Wasserzeichen auf jeder Seite versehen.
Es schreibt sich fantastisch darauf, ganz gleich ob mit Bleistift, Rollerball oder Füller.
Eine Seite Vorwort auf englisch und 2 Seiten Weltkarte runden das Sketchbook ab.
Der Preis ist nicht zu Unrecht stolz.

Just absolutely gorgeous. The cover is so flexible which I love and the silver gilding on the edges very nice touch indeed. The paper is nice and somewhat heavy however it’s not Mnemosyne silky smooth there is, however slight, a little grainy feel to it much like leuchhturm1917 just a little less thick. All in all it’s very aesthetically pleasing no doubt but I wish it contained paper equivalent in weight and texture to Moleskine, leuchtturm or Mnemosyne. I’m no authority on paper but I know what I like and the Montblanc paper really doesn’t do it for me. I would liken it to dating a very handsome man with no intelligence- I want to look at him all day long I just don’t want him to open his mouth. In short I want to date this notebook not marry it. If I could find a notebook that looked like this one but was filled with Mnemosyne paper I’d marry it in a heartbeat…without a prenup 😘

Puh. Ich muss zugeben, das teuerste Notizbuch, was ich mal kaufte, war ein unliniertes, Hardcoverbuch für um die 37 Euro. Montblancs Sketchbook ist mal ein ganz anderes Preissegment. Andererseits bin ich keine Markenbitch, mich überzeugt Qualität, egal ob Marke X, Y oder Z drauf steht. Aber natürlich war ich gespannt, was mich erwartet. Insgesamt lässt sich wenig Kritik finden.
Gut finde ich:
– die Verarbeitung ist fehlerfrei, was man aber normal auch bei diesem Preis erwarten sollte
– der Silberschnitt färbt nicht ab, außer man fährt die Finger mit Druck über die Fläche. Manche Seiten sind durch den gefärbten Schnitt miteinander verbunden, sie lassen sich allerdings leicht auseinanderziehen, ohne dass das Papier verletzt wird
– es ist nur ein sehr leichter Ledergeruch bemerkbar
– die Details sind sehr edel: Silberschnitt, Lesebändchen, Wasserzeichen auf jeder Seite, das Logo-Sternchen auf der Vorderseite
– die Seiten fühlen sich glatt an und sind gut zum Schreiben mit Kugelschreiber geeignet. Auch Bleistifte machen einen guten Fuss auf den Seiten. Aber wegen der Glätte ist es imho eher ein Notiz-, als ein Skizzenbuch.
Neutral gesehen:
– jeder hat ja seine Präferenzen, was ein gutes Notizbuch ausmacht, nun wurde ja auch schon in der Produktbeschreibung darauf hingewiesen, dass das Buch über ein Softcover verfügt. Mir persönlich ist es zu weich. Es ist eher ein Notizbuch, was man auf dem Tisch bearbeitet, allerdings – für meinen Geschmack – keines, was man für unterwegs dabei hat. Unabhängig vom stolzen Preis, ich achte sehr auf meine Sachen (bin manchmal allerdings auch etwas rücksichtslos), ich hätte die Befürchtung das dies Notizbuch nicht lange so schön bleibt. Aber dafür sind ja Skizzen/Notizbücher u.a. auch ausgelegt, das man sie überall mit hinnehmen kann.

Resümee: Ich liebe es in diesem Buch zu schreiben, aber für mich ist es halt kein Buch für unterwegs, das habe ich dann allerdings auch nicht in Gänze erwartet.

Das Unternehmen wurde Anfang des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts in Hamburg gegründet mit dem heute noch bekannten Emblem, das die sechs Gletscherzungen des schneebedeckten Gipfels des Mont Blanc zeigt. Es war zunächst ein Unternehmen für Schreibprodukte mit dem 1924 erschienenen Füllfederhalter Meisterstück, der als Inbegriff des Schreibgenusses galt und noch immer gilt. Doch da sich das Leben immerzu ändert, hat Montblanc mittlerweile nicht nur edle Schreibgeräte im Portfolio, sondern auch Uhren und Schmuck, Accessoires, Parfüm und mehr.
Das getestete Leder Notizbuch oder wie es weltmännisch korrekt heißt Sketchbook, im A4-Format und mit 277 Seiten, ist edel in der Ausführung und im Preis.
Es wurde in Florenz, Italien gefertigt. Das Papier ist aus einhundert Prozent Cellulose, mit einem Silberschnitt am Rand und einem Einband aus Kalbsspaltleder.
Die Kunst der Herstellung solch eines Notizbuches spürt man bei der ersten Berührung. Weich und anmutig fühlt es sich an. Das Knistern der Seiten beim umblättern ist ein Streicheln der Ohren. Das erste Zeichen mit einem dementsprechenden Füllfederhalter ein grand moment.
Zum Luxus dazu gehört das auf jeder Seite erscheinende Montblanc Emblem.
Wer ein Notizbuch to go sucht, ist mit diesem Sketchbook falsch beraten. Das Montblanc-Notizbuch will auf dem Eichenholztisch präsentiert werden, vielleicht nach einer Großwildjagd, denn tierliebende Menschen werden vom Kalbsspaltleder Abstand nehmen.
Und wer einfach nur seine Gedanken aufschreiben oder Reiseerlebnisse festhalten will, kann auch zu einem günstigen Notizbuch greifen, viel falsch kann man da nicht machen.
