The product itself is nice. It boosted my 800Mbs Xfinity that was only getting 200Mbs (even with DOCSIS 3.0 that supported up to 800Mbs) with older model now up to 930Mbs with this new one.
Only problem is getting any support. I had Motorola WiFi router that needs firmware update but nowhere to be found except a document to update firmware. But the websites they listed out do not work.

So, I will be shidd out of luck if it needs to be serviced.

Purchased this modem to replace a Motorola MB8611 in order to take advantage of my location’s internet service upgrade to the “10G” network (mid/high split). The download speeds are as advertised on my 2000Mbps internet plan. I typically receive around 2200-2300Mbps wired and 1500Mbps wireless on my current network with WiFi 7 and 2.5GbE. However, the upload speed does not exceed the typical ~40Mbps, as only specific modems approved by Xfinity can achieve higher upload speeds. Other modems do provide the ability to use the “up to” 200Mbps changes but this one does not. I feel like a beta tester at this point for Xfinity’s “upgrade” and product approval. This is a great modem and works well out of the box but not for the next-gen Xfinity network upload speeds if you are looking to upgrade for that purpose specifically.

I got this as I already owned a very nice router and didn’t want a combo unit from my new service provider. Once I found the active jack in the house (the first one I tried was inactive), setup was a breeze.
Having missing the page on the meanings of the light colors, I had emailed Motorola, and they did get back to me promptly to confirm that it seemed like an issue on the ISP end. So all in all, no regrets and highly recommend.

The Motorola B12 Cable Modem is easily one of my favorite products. For the very low bar of “it just works”. I know that sounds easy for all product to reach but it is not. There was zero config needed on my part. Plug the power & Coax in. Head to the app and activate. It took under 7 minutes. Up speed went from 449Mbps to 1343Mbps down. Buy this modem now even if you don’t have 1gig service. The 2.5gig will future proof your network.
