I am an avid backpacker, camper, and hiker. Lately, I have been taking my son out overlanding/boondocking and sleeping in the car. Therm-A-Rest sleeping mats had been my go-to insulator because of their light weight and packability. But… I have been seeking out comforts to make camping more enjoyable for my Kindergarten-aged kid.
I previously reviewed a similar mat that was 3″ thick and it was AMAZINGLY comfortable. How would this 2″ one fare?
PROS
– Very comfortable
– Foam mattress expands on its own to about 50-70% of maximum firmness
— Manually blow through one of two holes to desired firmness
— At 100% firm, it felt somewhat uncomfortable, and so I let some air out
– Elevates off the ground a bit, allowing my feet to comfortably dangle while on my stomach
– Built-in pillow helps with sleeping sideways or on the back. Not so much while on the stomach
– Quick deflation
– Rolls up somewhat compact back into its sack
– 2″ thickness insulates very well against the cold ground
CONS
– Takes up far more space than a Therm-A-Rest backpacking sleeping mat
– Heavier than Therm-A-Rest mat
– Takes more effort to roll back up, compress, and put back into its sack
– Not as comfortable as the 3″ thick mat, but that also makes it not as bulky to pack away
In short, this sleeping mat is VERY, VERY comfortable to sleep on. I actually really love it for that. It is, however, not suitable for backpacking/wilderness trekking because of its heavier weight and bulk. So, I plan on bringing this only for when space is available, such as car camping, overlanding, and boondocking.
I have also inflated it to 100% and used it as a small slide for the kids to play on.

Both my husband and I found it very comfortable. We use 2 pads individually when canoe camping and 3 pads snapped together when car camping. We never thought that we would replace our foam camping pads when we are car camping. There is a bit of a gap when snapped together, however it doesn’t seem to matter. We can both spread out nicely. The 3 pads snapped together is almost a king size pad. Make sure you snap them together before you let it inflate. It is easy enough to roll up and put back in its case. When rolled up it is a bit heavier and a bit bulkier than name brands, but its worth it for the extra length and width. We use them during the summer so I can’t speak to it’s insulation properties other than I did not feel any cold radiating from the ground.

I wanted something comfortable after a miserable camping experience on a foam sleeping mat. Between being a side sleeper, having a bad back from a car accident, and dealing with long-COVID, a yoga mat just doesn’t cut it for me. I ordered this sleeping pad because it had good reviews, hoping it would make camping a better experience.
Sleep experience:
On my first camping trip with this pad, I was shocked when I woke up in the morning having slept well! The mat isn’t as comfortable as a bed, but, placed on top of a foam sleeping mat, it protected me from the bumps in the ground and was soft enough to keep my hips padded while also being firm enough to support my back and sides. I am a petite person–5′ and about 110 lbs.–so I don’t know if a larger person would be as comfortable. I liked that I was able to adjust the firmness by adding or letting out some air. I’ve never slept so well in a tent–not even when I was a kid!
Set up/Putting Away:
As soon as I received it in the mail I unrolled the pad and let it inflate for about 24 hours, adding a few lungfuls of air myself. When I unrolled it at the campsite it quickly inflated to its full capacity.
Rolling it back up is of course less convenient than rolling up a yoga mat, but it’s not overly difficult; I had no problem rolling it up so that it would fit back into the bag.
It is pretty heavy and bulky, so I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re planning to hike to your camping site, but it’s ideal if you’re driving to your destination.
I’ve only used it on one trip so far, so at this point I can’t comment on its durability.

I was very satisfied with the first one I purchased so I ordered another one for my husband. As soon as I opened it, I could tell it wasn‘t inflating as fast and as much as the first one, but the difference was acceptable and I needed it for my camping 2 days after receiving it so I just decided to keep it.
However, it was a wrong decision that turned my camping into a terrible experience. It didn’t inflate at all (no cuts or air leaking). Very thin and uncomfortable to sleep on. I tried testing it again before writing this review and still the same. Doesn’t inflate at all now. It’s a shame because I am still satisfied with the first one I bought and I would have given a 5-star if the second wasn’t a defect.
I reached out to their customer service asking for a replacement but still haven’t hear back for more than 1 month now. Very disappointed at their service too.

I bought Naturehike tents and camping lights before, but I’ve never tried this item before. In my opinion, Naturehike provides almost everything a “Glamping” needs. This item not only fits my camping plan but also I can bring it to my friend’s room and just sleep on the ground comfortably with this one. The material it uses is very stable and resistant. I think I can use this for a couple of years. My friend has a same item as this one, we found these two can be combined together (can append more actually).

I ordered 2. They have foam on the inside, so they are more comfortable than air-only sleeping pads. These are for camping and I have higher priced quality pads, these were just as comfy and easy to inflate and deflate. 1 of 2 pads developed a leak so I returned both after 2 camping uses.

This is super easy to use and comfy. Self inflated in about 5 minutes and you can blow a little extra air in yourself if needed. Instructions, storage bag and straps made this so easy to set up and put away. Great for kids but will be a two child job to put away ☺️

Dual vent good for deflating. Better than stupid new valves that are on most of pads available at REI now.
