This book does a great job teaching us to have the right mindset even when we’re not actively negotiating. There were lessons in here that I think about everyday so that they can become habit and overall I learned a lot from this book. There are some typos and there was one chapter that I feel like won’t appeal to me for years, but it’s a great read and it even gave some good laughs here and there. Try it out.

Amazing book. The Art of Negotiation written by Tim Castle is full of many knowledgeable ways on the importance of negotiation and how it can be done. I failed to realise that everyday we are negotiating, even when we do not know it. This book helped me become aware of what I could be missing out on the next time I’d have a business meeting to make my pitch or developing a relationship with potential dates and friends. I did not give a full 5 stars review just because at times some chapters were longer than they should have been. Perhaps I favor a more concise way of writing especially if the same message is repeated over and over. But that does not detract anything from the book, which I think is indeed top quality in terms of content, references and supporting theories. Bravo.

There are many grammatical errors in this book which makes it hard at times to read and understand easily what the author is trying to articulate. I read most of the book, and stopped with about 50 pages left because I felt that I wasn’t really gaining any important knowledge from this book. It’s an ok book, and it’s almost 300 pages long. There are better places to find information on negotiation for sure. Still gained value from reading the book however.

This is a fast read with good breakdown of the negotiation process and a lot of anecdotes which contribute to the readability. However, the book needs a good editing, so if you cringe at grammatical mistakes, prepare for a good bit of it. I excuse some of them due to a difference between British and American phraseology, but grammar is grammar.
The author had a lot of interesting references that I followed up, and it led to some new information and thoughts, so I appreciated that.
