This IS NOT a romance novel. It is a beautiful story of love and being given a second chance on love. Maggie is recovering from a stroke. We tend to forget that the people that fall ill still want their own life back and as much as we try to help we tend to also tell them what is and what is not good for them. We cheer them on with their baby steps to recovery but forget that they still have a sense of humor and would still like to laugh even if it is at them-self. Her children lives are falling apart, her husband had a heart attack and died and she is still the strongest member of the family. She loves her garden and in the trust her husband punishes her by allowing a very small stipend to keep up the garden. Her neighbor next door is having a lush and very expensive landscaping job done and the landscape “artist” next door is first known as the blue shirt. They are drawn to each other and develop a friendship over their mutual interest “gardening”. Maggie describes the flowers and trees with love and passion just as Tristan feels it in his own heart. Maggie is re-learning how to walk, talk etc. Tristan helps her with her recovery and getting her garden back to the beautiful sanctuary it once was. The development of their relationship is BEAUTIFUL โฅ

I have read this book many times. It is a story of love, compassion, and courage. The author holds us with a mix of humor and heart rending sadness. A truly great experience for anyone who has had or witnessed a stroke.

I loved the gardening parts, but being a sixty-something myself, I felt the sex scenes were unrealistic. Toward the end, I got the feeling of hurry as if she had to get it finished within the page counts. I absolutely hated the ending.
