Works great, replaced a very noisy fan from an OEM.

Used this to replace the revving stock CPU fan (the square version, this won’t work for the angled blower version) on an XPS 8920 desktop.
Noctua oriented same way as stock, blowing down over the cpu fins, with rubberized corners removed, but you do you.
It’s a silent machine under load now.
If you are like me you’ll also want to replace the top *chassis* fan that is noisy too at the same time, so in addition to this NF-A8 for the CPU, for the top chassis fan you could also grab a 120mm pwm (4pin) noctua, or a simple Arctic P12 (3pin) for constant speed works too, or an Arctic P12 PWM (4pin) if you want it to vary in speed, for the top fan. This is a really great fan. It’s hard to find a quality fan at 80mm. At this size, the fan either pumps a good amount of air but is loud, or is quiet, but ineffective.
With this fan, there’s no compromise. It’s absurdly quiet, and with an airflow of 32.4CFM, it’s on part with many 120mm fans. Really great, and brought my case temps down well in my mini-ITX cube setup. Be sure to get this version, the 4-pin PWM one. It’s the same price as the 3 pin, and will work on a 3-pin connector. But the 4th pin gives you temperature controlled airflow from the motherboard’s PWM connector. Really great buy.
Comes with accessories as well, including a Y splitter to daisy chain off the PWM connection, and rubberized “tabs” in the place of screws to reduce vibration in the case (it includes screws too, you just don’t need them).
Lastly, this fan uses fluid bearings (oil based I think), and has a much longer lifespan than a sleeve bearing or ball bearing fan (up to or more than 3x the life of a sleeve bearing fan).
Excellent fan. It’s probably between 50-60% more costly than the average fan this size, but it’s worth the money, between the quality and the mounting accessories. Honestly, you’ll likely save in the long run if you buy one of these, as it will outlive your current PC and be usable in future builds.

I bought a 92mm and 80mm Noctua case fan and so far it really made a difference in terms of noise reduction. I switch Noctua fan with my old one and i thought my PC died on start up because of the sudden drop of noise after 1-2 second of starting up. I can actually hear what is happening inside my PC now due to the fan being almost dead silent.
It feels very weird because i never had a Desktop PC this quiet before.
The Installation was easy and straight forward. It still comes in a nice looking box. The fan comes with a cable attach, also comes with an extension cord if you need the extra length, the noise reduction cord which i used for both of the fans and really made a huge difference. Along with a few other things. There was no instruction manual (maybe there was) but that was not needed. All you do is plug the fan cord into the noise reduction cord if you want to use it and then plug that into the 4 pin fan slot on the motherboard. Everything should fit together nicely, not much force is needed plugging things together. It comes with 4 screws, use a screw driver to mount the fans in place.
This is not really a problem but as people know the color of fans really does not match with everything else. But i don’t really look at my CPU so it not a problem for me it. They do have black now or starting to sell black color Noctua Fans. My gaming rig is not big size so these fans handle it fine. The box says a 6 year warranty so that is a plus.
Overall i am very impress with the presentation and the quality. It made me want to write a review for it. The CPU noise compare to before these fans is night and day. I never realized how long my CPU noise was before using these fans. Of course this is the first day i am using them as i am writing this review so take it for what you will. Hopefully these fans will last me a good few years at minimum.

My 80mm case fans (really old Antec case) came with everything needed to install them. That included soft, rubber mounts as well as screws, short and long cable extensions, a splitter cable from which to run 2 fans from one fan header, and a 6 year manufacturer’s warranty.
When the computer is idling, the fans are barely audible. Once the processor goes to work (Ryzen 9 9750X3D using integrated GPU) I can hear fans speeding up slightly but they are still very quiet.
I’m a great fan of Noctua fans and will buy again if needed.

This brand will forever be one of my favorites. They really are very quiet and keep everything nice and cool. I’m not the biggest fan of the color scheme so i may eventually get the black ones. But no matter what i enjoy using these in my pc builds!

Just really happy with this fan. Extremely well-built, quiet, and comes with easy “push pin” installation pins (I still screwed mine in). Also, comes with electrical pin out extensions/conversions should you need them. The corner mounting pads are rubberized to further reduce and fan noise. A great product!
