My Ramblings
Food! Or me with food! Or any combination therein. So Let’s take a closer look at why I like this fast cooker and new lunch buddy.
To the Point or TL;DR
Perfect Lunch making, Small meal companion, and Complement to stovetop and oven. This will not replace your usual cooking suspects. Different power options (very important) for dorms/efficiency apartments. Nice Cookbook included. Makes things crispier than my oven. Highly versatile with lots of cooking options. Easy to clean by hand or just wipe out between uses (like iron skillet). Takes counterspace, so better have some. This is basically a 1950’s, upside down, convection oven. Excellent for a wide variety of foods, but I’m not cooking a whole meal in it.
The Good Stuff
One truly excellent thing. The different power/wattage options are brilliant. Many a small kitchenette or apartment can’t handle 1800w of power, so this thing lets you dial it down to 700w or 1500w to keep from popping a breaker or GFCI. Great replacement for a hot plate in a door room or efficiency apartment. Found it makes things crispier than my oven. Great for mozzarella sticks, french fries, corn dog bites, and all those frozen things or reheating a meal. Definitely cooks things faster. Surprisingly easy to clean, which is always a bonus. Overall, perfect to help cook a meal, or make a full 1 or 2 person meal.
The Meh Stuff
Don’t need all those presets. Just as fast to dial in temp and time. Will take some counter space, so be prepared to clear a space and watch for hot air exhaust out the rear less you start an unintentional fire or melt the paint off a wall.
The Bad Stuff
We haven’t found one, but I think people believe this will revolutionize cooking their family meal. It will not; however, it is a great complementary tool to get you there or for quick, small meal.
Who May Use/Like It
Those needing a quick, small to medium meal, or complement in the kitchen, or replacement for that heating plate.
Me Final Thoughts
I have not begun to use this to it’s fullest abilities. We intend to attempt to dry Leaves the kids find and love, dry our home grown spices, re-heat everything, and cook something huge. I think we will find it to be very useful.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Hope it helps!
All the best, Just Benjamin

Context: I make a LOT of food for people. I love cooking for crowds. Oddly, I did not have an air fryer, but I couldn’t pass this one up for the price.
The first 2 things you notice are that the display is super easy to read (and use), and the thing is very quiet. Quieter than my other appliances by a lot. The display uses more of a “daylight” temperature of light for the readout, so it’s very clear and easy on the eyes.
This came with a really neat cookbook with some fun stuff in it (picture of devils on horseback shown). Some of that stuff I would not have thought to put in an air fryer, so not only good recipes, but a great trigger to let you know that more stuff goes in the air fryer than you might think.
This is a pretty big unit. More of a family-size unit, depending on your preferred portions. Plenty of room for air flow for my 2-person household, but perfect for throwing in batches for guests. Great for keeping the hot hors d’oeuvres coming.
Some things to note that I tried out. Can I cook from frozen and get crispy (but not burnt) on the outside and hot all the way through? Yes. Works great for that. Is it good quality non stick? Yes. Everything comes right off. Barely worth it to put a liner in (they hold moisture and wreck the crisping). Are the preset functions easy to use? Simple as can be. There’s an entire list of all 100 functions in the manual, and it’s a simple push of a button to use. No scrolling or excessive clicking or anything.
It does have capabilities to work at different wattages. Not many people are going to need that, but if you bring your favorite appliances camping (and this will be on that list, I guarantee it), then that will be a bonus feature. There is also an automatic pause feature, which is nice. When you pull out the basket to check the food or give it a shake, it pauses. As soon as you put the basket back in, it starts back up on its own. My friend’s unit from a major brand name doesn’t do that.
All in all, I gave this quite a test and it passed with flying colors on everything. Not sure why I didn’t get an air fryer before, but I’m glad I waited for this one. Highly recommend.
