As a diy vehicle enthusiast Iโve been using this everyday and canโt recommend it enough! $111 on sale for Black Friday normally $150. Iโd get it for any person who works on his/her vehicle. It shows you codes for the check engine light & ones that donโt even show up! It can do so many things because itโs bidirectional & supports protocols not supported by cheaper obd2 code scanners. Can connect to your phone or computer (windows/iphone/android). No subscription needed. Itโs wifi/bluetooth (wireless). Works for any vehicle as old as 1996. Also works with multiple apps besides the one supplied, including Forscan for Ford programming.

Plug and play device, well built. Can read and clear check engine codes/check engine lights. Can be used to reprogram the BCM for options that the car was not originally equipped with (provided you’ve added the hardware for it to interface with).
Added performance pages and parksense using the alfaOBD app on a 16 charger rt, after installing the bumper w/sensors and trunk lid. Works great!
Also, can be used in conjuction with other tuners like Diablo or SCT without fear of the tune becoming corrupted.
This is an amazing option for the at home mechanic who doesn’t want to spend thousands on a diagnostic computer.

Der OBDLINK MX OBD 2 Stecker funktioniert Super mit Bimmercode an BMW F10 F11 und mit Forscan mit Ford Mondeo mk4 der Preis ist etwas zu Krass.

High quality device that works really well with my Pixel 3 Android 10 phone and Torque Pro.
The only downside to this device is that the software provided by the manufacturer that you install from the Google Play is not that good. I had difficulty getting the hardware to talk to the manufacturer software but in my case it didn’t matter since I was planning to use third-party software, which works very well with the hardware. The manufactures Android software has a plugin that accesses special codes for my Honda, so I really want it to work, but it difficult to get the software to work smoothly (Which is issues, but not a huge issues).
The OBDLink MX+ is capable of accessing all of the ODBII codes (Even car model specific codes) and communicate via Bluetooth at a high speed. Other manufactures cheap ODB-II devices can have issues maintaining a high data transfer rate or a steady data rate but the OBDLink MX+ does not have either ones of these issues.
As with all good hardware, I want to point out several things:
1) The firmware of the OBDLink MX+ is updated regularly. I have received two updates in about a months time, so as of this writing, this product is getting great support from the manufacture. The update process is more or less painless (I had a tiny issue the first time I updated the firmware) and should take about 5 minutes to complete.
2) The OBDLink MX+ is capable of sending lots of data at a high speed to your phone/tablet. On my Pixel 3, I use Torque Pro with the OBDLink MX+ and I have never had an issue with data being dropped or the Bluetooth connection stalling. If you are really into collecting data from your car, this is really important!
I have the OBDLink MX+ send ODB-II data to my phone every .1 seconds (Yes, 10 updates a second) and Torque Pro says it is not having any issues. Torque Pro also says that the OBDLink MX+ is one of the fastest ODBII devices (There is a speed test you can do in Torque Pro and then compare the result to other ODB-II connectors (Bluetooth, WiFi and wired)).
3) Surprisingly, the manufactures supplied ODBII software from the Google Play store is not that good (Well, on a Pixel 3 running Android 10). I have difficultly getting the supplied software on my phone to communicate with my OBDLink MX+. When you start up the ODBII software, you are suppose to click connect and then the software does its magic, but most of the time, it just hangs and does nothing. If I have ran Torque Pro on my phone, I have to reboot my phone to get the manufactures software to work with the OBDLink MX+. Then when it is connected, sometimes it still does not even work. The Dashboard (Shows speed, RPM and other stuff) does not update often or at all. Switching over to Torque Pro shows that my phone is connected to the OBDLink MX+ and the OBDLink MX+ is sending data. Honestly, it’s not a big deal accept that OBDLink MX+ gives you some of the car specific codes for free. When you are having car issues, seeing the extra car specific codes is super helpful. I really wish the manufactures Android software worked better and was not a pain to work with. However, not a deal killer since I use their party software such as Torque Pro.
Note to the manufacture of OBDLink MX+, you really need to fix your Android software. Other than that, a great product!

This is a brilliant substitute item for the GS911. It does most of what the GS911 does, but at a fraction of the cost. You do have to also download motoscan which is just for BMWโs (all of them) there is a one-off payment of ยฃ25 for this and it works really well with the OBD link.

I use this with a couple different apps and it works great. It’s really good if your datalogging because there are no cords in the way. Once in a while I will get a connection issue but I think it’s more to do with the device I’m connecting this to. It’s great for checking and clearing DTC’s. Works with a phone or a laptop.

Funciona muy bien para cualquier vehรญculo y te da facilidad con su aplicaciรณn propia, pero para usarlo con ForScan es la mejor opciรณn.

Update 10/24 still working, still helpful
Update – love this thing. Still works great, have updated firmware again to 5.6.19 with no issues and tried it on a number of vehicles. Have even left in overnight (accidently) with no problems. Works with the apps I have tried with no problem. Would definitely recommend.
Pretty cool OBDII reader – mine came in a cardboard box like some of the other pictures, WITHOUT a carry case (which would have been nice for storing when not in use). Amazon shipped it in a brown shipping bag along with my oil filter so it was kind of beat up. Was on the fence about this one or the LX (green one) for ~$50, but finally went with this one. Great choice, as it’s very easy to use and has alot of information. I don’t own any other readers, so can’t compare it to what they do. I also like that it can be updated and that it’s compatible with other OBD apps too. First, I downloaded the company’s FREE app from the app store. Then it was time for vehicle number 1. Plugged it into the OBDII port and a few of the lights came on. Then I turned the key to “on” but didn’t start it. I deleted my phone from the car’s bluetooth (just to make sure there was no issues), pressed the small button on the front of the reader (below the “O”) and it came up in my phone’s bluetooth settings. Paired it, then pressed “Connect” in the app. Once connected, it recognised the car and a popup informed me there were enhancements available for the vehicle. Downloaded the enhancements (free, no extra cost) and wow, lots of stuff available. Then, a firmware update available notification popped up. The one I received was on firmware version 5.3.1 (5 revisions back) and it said 5.6.15 is the most current. Turned off my WiFi (because it’s just out of reach and keeps connecting and dropping from the driveway) so I was on cell data only and updated the firmware, which updated with no issues. Just to be sure everything was OK I disconnected in the app and removed the module from the port. Then I plugged it back in and connected in the app. No problem, fast connection. Now time for vehicle number 2, older vehicle from mid 2000’s. Plugged into the port and a few lights came on, turned ignition to “on”, pressed “Connect” and the vehicle was recognized right away and also notified me of available enhancements (free, NO extra cost for different make/model), which took no time at all to download. Poked around a little bit in the app to see the available options and there are quite a bit, even setting up the colors and gauges on your dashboard! Will now put one of the older tablets to good use and pair it with this reader instead of my phone.
Came back to edit this review to say customer service is outstanding. The product works well and the addidional enhancements for free with no recurring subscription charges make this an excellent choice. Plus, easy to carry and use!
