Okay so this Olympia is definitely MILES from many of the other ones in this price range, making it a great buy. It’s very easy & quick to assemble (I’d recommend using your own tools – just a 10mm wrench, a Philips head and an allen/ Hex (T15 or T10 I can’t remember – thinking it was the former though) and don’t forget to leave the 4 in the center hub loose until you put the foot/lower ring on — I forgot and then of course the legs were just about a foot off in circumference lol– then I got on, even adjusted it up to the top (it’s a tall one – I’m 6’2″ and I’m just barely able to sit down without using the foot bar) so I’m up at 36″ or whatever and then I feel it going sideways and back and fronts and then I remembered the 4 in the center hub dummy! 🤦🏼♂️
So- Altogether: Solid! Stronger than the average bear! I have 2 craftsmen like it and it is sturdier than than either of those. The height is great if you have a high bench and a lot of things that are on pegboard across the bench & the guns or whatever it is you wrench on. No wheels. I will be putting my own on, I need to get from one end to the other and back around or over to 1 of 2 other workspaces and I won’t lie- it’s just more fun to push down hard and roll fast as hell – no? Eh i like to feel young and that’s about all I got. Stability is good – I said great before I should clarify 1 thing: the backrest is a cheap design. I’m going to be making something else for sure, it wabbles and clicks – the L bars are held by1 single dimple pin for the back, 1 underneath with the addition of a micro peen size twist by thumb & index finger tight knob. Last thing that sucks is the padding – you can push the air out and flatten the seat with a little pressure from 2 fingers. My tailbone has been like, YO! WHAT THE ACTUAL —-? As my legs had literally gone numb. I’m going to figure out the best possible way to secure a cushion – took 1 off the couch, wife wasn’t feeling thet. It was of course far too big and I meant more like a office chair thing or something orthopedic like or something from my hunting gear.
It’s too bad though because this one sure does look good. And for $80 something bucks- You’re going to get the best possible value as far as the bones/Frame/Foundation and then some. Just need to tweak 2 things.
Compared to the other ones in this price range I’ve tried, seen others trying & failing miserably (the product not the people) I mean I will just leave you with this comparison – goes both up and down: same price (unless you have a coupon or something at the moment) at H.F. it’s the 1 by Pittsburgh – Absolutely nothing but scrap metal. Up a little bit -Craftsmen- I have 2, and have had many before. They’re not that much different. I have mentioned more about this way back up there ↑when back when you were still young. I actually wrote this much… ok well 🤦🏼♂️

Would give 5 stars if not for 2 things…
1. Directions are not in order. They give you a picture of the stool and you have to skip around the page to go to next step. Could be more clear as we’ll as I had to take some of it apart and do it over, but is solid once completed and looks nice in my garage workshop and I do appreciate it having a back on it.
2. I wish the seat was a little bigger. Feels solid overall but the seat itself feels small under me and I’m not a big guy. 6′ 220 lbs.

I shopped local for a decent garage stool and couldn’t find anything at this price point that didn’t have a goofy gibberish logo and costed more to boot. This stool was easy to assemble and looks great. The back rest is a game changer. If you’re looking for a decent garage stool, take it from me, you’re not going to find a better deal, when if you shop on Chinese import sites. Professional look and a good spot to rest your haunches.

My husband wanted a stool for his new work bench. He is very happy with this one, which seems to be very good quality for the price. To be honest, my dear one is not super at furniture assembly, but he said this was a snap to put together. It is surprisingly sturdy and he said it is quite comfortable. I’m complaining in the beginning of my review but end with overall positive feelings of this product. I would give it 5 stars if the instructions and provided tools were better. I included two photos in this review for the tools I used and the ones provided in the box.
The instructions do not list the hex, wrench, and phillips head sizes required. The screws in the assembly diagram are not drawn to scale. I thought I was missing hardware until I figured this out. The manufacturer assumes that you own an adequate screwdriver because the tool provided is too small. It literally just spins on the screw head without gripping the slots.
Recommended assembly tools:
*PH3 phillips screw driver
*5mm allen key
*10mm deep socket (1/4″ drive)
*1/4″ drive nut driver handle
The stool is great! It is very sturdy yet light in weight. I find it comfortable for practicing guitar and using at my varidesk workstation for my day job. I have a bad back so I need to change the height I’m sitting at to get relief from the pain. The products range of heights is quite good for this.

Fiddly to put together but we got there in the end. Once assembled it’s heavy, robust and sturdy. Unfortunately after just a few months it proved ended up being unsuited to my reason for purchase. Tried selling it on Gumtree, couldn’t even get twenty quid for it so looks like I’m stuck with it! I’d say that, apart from use as a bar stool, it would make a great arts and craft stool or for anyone working at a desk or easel.
