My old Oral B was having problems charging (after all it was about 13-14 years old), so it was time for a replacement. I specifically bought this model because of the softer brushes and slower settings. I’m in my seventies and my teeth and gums no longer like/need the harder bristles and faster speeds. This is perfect.

I have been using Oral-B electric toothbrushes for the past 10 years and upgraded to one of the newest and find it to be an excellent product superior cleaning with noticeable results. Highly recommend the iOS 3 or any of the newer models to get a wonderful brushing experience.

I like the softer rotating brushing action of the Oral-B IO series compared to non IO series, but the replacement heads cost more and are as not readily available. The 2-pack of the IO series are thirty dollars at the big box stores and close to the same price on Amazon. The warehouse clubs only have the regular Oral-B replacement heads and don’t carry the IO series.
I like the gentler brushing action and it’s good for my son that tends to push harder thinking that pressing more cleans his teeth better. But if you have kids that push the toothbrush on their teeth instead of gliding it you’ll go through a lot of replacement heads that will cost much more than the toothbrush itself.

The new iO toothbrushes from Oral-B have the same gentle but effective feel as the dental hygienist brushes in the office. For over 20 years, people have emphasized brushing hard at the gum tooth border, supposedly as a way of reducing plaque buildup there. But for several years now, it seem to me that this does much more harm than good, and I directly witnessed gum, recession, and exposure near the teeth roots, especially at the areas where I focused on brushing at the gums. The opinion I have been hearing for the last few years is the exact opposite of this: do not brush the gums, only brush the teeth , but affective flossing, etc. It’s important to protect the gums from this trauma of extremely fast, spinning, toothbrushes, and I’ve been very happy with the new generation of toothpaste, such as Gum Detoxify.
I could not be happier with the IO Generation two gentle toothbrush, and the most gentle cleaning heads, used on the lowest setting. Our only complaint was how to use this in a family of four people who previously had four separate heads with four separate colors. Braun was completely unable to offer any help in this matter: they said they do not have a multi head holder that would fit with the new.IO Toothbrushes or the charger.
I’m here to tell you the new charger fits perfectly well in the old Braun oral B 4 brushhead Holder. It’s important to note the old charger does not work with the new io Toothbrush, but it is the exact same size as the old one so it snapped easily into the holder. It is also also important to say that the new io Brushhead do not fit completely inside the holder either. But they lay on it very easily with the lid up, and this has solved our problem. This is solved our storage issue: as you can see, or will be brushhead, can be distinguished by a series of 12 different small symbols at the bottom of each brushhead: or will be further assure customers that this means you will never get to identical symbols, and when I bought eight of these, I had three duplicates. Oral B States they have no way of individually picking symbols, so there is a reasonable chance you will get duplicates if you buy two four packs.

I went to buy replacement /additional brush heads (enough to share with my spouse), but they are hard to find. Only offered by two sellers – and about $10 each. The less expensive multi-packs are for the Series 3 or above. Oral-B does not even list the Series 2 on their website. Soon, there might not be any replacement brush heads available. I feel scammed.

Solid rotating brush replacing my 10 yr old Sonicare. Only draw back is that I have a FULL set of teeth- this brush head is a lot larger than the sonicare and thus it will not reach behind the back of molars very well- really gotta jam it back there lol. But good value for the money.
