Very pleased with the 58 Quart ORCA Cooler. It is the size that provides a good capacity and still can be lifted by one person. The dimensions are also uniquely suited to use the CoolerShock large size aluminum packets even standing the long-wise on edge. The interior of this cooler is flat on the bottom and on all four sides, unlike wheeled coolers that have curved bottoms that make it very hard to effectively use the artificial ice products available. We had previously been using the Pelican 65 quart model which also keeps items cools for many days, but it is so heavy with an awkward width that requires two super humans to get it from point A to point B. The ORCA is generally rated on par with a Pelican or YETI brand cooler, yet is typically lower cost. We are very pleased with the overall quality and particularly the refrigerator type seal.

Absolutely amazing! It is on the heavy side but thatโs fine considering it kept ice for well over a week in direct sunlight and constant opening. Zero regrets so far. Highly recommend. And itโs made in the USA!

We wanted a Rugged, very well built Cooler that looks great and most importantly keeps your stuff cold. If you set it up right you will definitely get 4 to 5 days of cold drinks and food. Made in America and works just as expected.

I bought this ice chest online, sight unseen. There are several brands out there now, and this one was one was less than the “Y” brand featured at REI. It is rugged/heavy compared to the super cheap chests. But this did keep ice for the 3 days we were camping, and would have gone 4 days if we’d stayed another day.
If you buy this or any other efficient chest, know that they work. However, with addition mass/weight, you need to either cool the chest before you go, or load with more ice at the start. It’s simple physics.

UPDATE: After about 2 years I am updating my review bc I am annoyed that my cooler will not fit in my trunk!!!! Iโve tried 3 diff cars for camping trips & the cooler always ends up in the backseat which rly puts a damper on trips when we have extra people & no one with a truck! Part of the fun of camping is that when you do dispersed itโs free so the fact weโve had to rent a car to just fit everyone & our cooler sucks. Just be aware if you drive a car it will not fit in the trunk! Iโm still leaving 4 stars because it does what itโs supposed to keeps ice forever but this design flaw is frustrating. If it was a half inch or inch smaller itโd fit.
I did some serious research before deciding what rotomolded cooler I wanted to buy ((meaning I watched a 10 minute YouTube vide comparing ice life in diff models)) and decided the orca was best for me. Bought this baby and it arrived super quick! I prechilled my cooler before my trip and used that bag of ice plus another bag of ice on a 4 day trip to sequoia with my friends. The ice lasted the whole time and the cooler was sealed so good I had to open the drain to release pressure to get it to open twice! The food to ice ratio was way off.. we packed it with so much food but it still kept everything cool + we had it in a black roof rack the whole way there and back (a 5 hour drive each way in 100ยฐ heat) and still had ice when we got home! Best cooler ever and cheaper than most other models + American made! Iโve only used this once but will be truly testing it for 10 days at burning man next month! If anything changes Iโll edit my review but at this point 10/10 would recommend to a friend

This is a super nice cooler. I bought this as a gift for my significant other and he loves it! I purchased the 58 quart in tan and the quality is evident. I was a little nervous about the front “whale tail strap closures” due to I could picture the rubber breaking or warping over time, but the rubber is super thick and stretchy I cannot foresee any issues with this. Do know that even empty this cooler is heavy though! Don’t expect a lightweight cooler when you are buying something that will keep your food cold for many days. This is a great cooler and is made in the US. I was deciding between this and a Yeti, and found better reviews for this.

After just 1 year and 6-8 uses, the gasket in the lid is no longer effective. It used to keep a tight vacuum seal to the point where I could not open the lid without unscrewing the drain. It does not anymore, and this affects the cooler’s performance. I found replacement gaskets at the manufacturer’s website, and for $12 it is reasonable and I’d be willing to replace it. Shipping is another $24, and that is just too much, especially if it is going to wear out after just a few uses. With a tight seal, this cooler is amazing. I’d challenge any other similar cooler to an ice-keeping contest. Without the gasket, it performs just a bit better than an old igloo. Disappointed!
UPDATE: Opened a warranty claim with ORCA. Unfortunately, the seller Great Brands USA is not an authorized dealer, and ORCA does not honor warranty claims for coolers purchased from unauthorized dealers. I’m starting to wish I’d bought a Yeti!

I was open to purchasing this cooler, at a premium price (over others), simply because of the fact that it’s made in America and assuming they would have great customer support as that is important to me. Unfortunately the customer support, or lack there of, is horrendous. This will be the first and last time i buy from Orca.
