Replaced 35 year old Oster blender that still runs. New Oster Pro is great so far. No quieter than old one but smoother and less irritating. Makes great smoothies and easy to clean. Brushed nickel colour closer to chrome if it matters.

Les cuento mi experiencia, ese mismo artículo pero en lugar del vaso para licuados, con el procesador de alimentos, lo pedí en Walmart on line , pero después de varios días me lo cancelaron , allá me había costado 2400 (+o-), estaba muy enojado porque aparte de que me cancelaron la compra no me devolvían mi efectivo, entre a ver a Amazon y veo la oferta (que compré) y de inmediato la aparte , fui y reclame en la otra empresa hasta que me devolvieron mi dinero, me lo devolvieron y de inmediato pague , al otro día llego

I loved finding a very powerful, well engineered blender for under $100, that also has a glass jar. That combination is so hard to find. I have used it for smoothies and blended soups. I am very pleased with its performance. Unfortunately, the housing is not “brushed nickle” nor does it even attempt to try to look like brushed nickle. It (and the buttons) are shiny silver plastic. Thank goodness I have a place to store it when not in use as it looks so unattractive, I would never want it on display on my counter.

I did a lot of research before originally buying this blender (including buying, testing and returning a few other popular models that much better marketing than function) and this was the best bang for the buck. Really, this was the best blender I could find under $100 and anything that actually performed better was several hundred. This blender works fine for smoothies, shakes and pretty much anything else you would want from a budget blender. It has no problem blending through ice and frozen fruit. It as a manual pulse button that makes chopping possible despite the powerful motor. The large jar is designed well and we never have to stop the blender to mix or push things down like we have with other units in the past. Some of the pre-programmed buttons, like the smoothy button, cycle the blade forwards and backwards to better blend ingredients in things from sticking to the sides. It would’ve been nice if there was a manual way to reverse the blade using the pulse button, but that is not possible on this unit. Still, at under $100 I have absolutely no complaints. There are cheaper blenders, but they couldn’t compete and I really got my moneys worth with this one. The personal use cup/jar is a bonus and comes in handy for a quick smoothie breakfast on the go.
Pros: fairly versatile, decent size 6 cup/1.25 oz glass jar (jar is actually 8 oz, but filling that far before blending will result in a mess), powerful, reasonably durable, reasonably priced
Cons: fairly loud, authentic replacement parts may be difficult to get
This is actually my second one, so I have several years experience with it. The first one still works fine, but the glass jar broke after several years and too many heat cycles through the dishwasher. We won’t be running this new jar through the dishwasher, even though it said it’s dishwasher safe. A little warm soapy water on the smoothie cycle and a quick rinse cleans it very well anyway. At the time I bought this one, Oster brand replacement jars were on back order. I had tried one of the knockoff jars sold here on Amazon, but the quality was a joke and it was literally unsafe for use, so it got returned and I just bought a whole new identical blender. One of the advantages of buying this new blender is that the included personal use plastic jar/cup has an upgraded design over our old one (both the personal cup, and the lid for it are improved).

I love smoothies. I make them every day. I literally use my blender daily. I tried all the other more expensive blenders but they never lasted more than one year. I purchased this blender with the expectation that it would not last a year, but figured it was better to spend $75 per year than spending more than $200 per year on a blender. Recently my Oster blender has been struggling to keep up with my demands so I went on Amazon to find a new blender. I was absolutely shocked to see that I purchased this blender FIVE years ago!! You can be sure that I just purchased it again!
Pros:
Not only is this blender able to handle everything I give it on a daily basis and it has blended strong for 5 years, it also is just a really great blender! I love that the jar is glass. it’s heavy duty and doesn’t make that horrible scraping sound that plastic blenders make when scraping out the insides with a spoon. Because it’s glass, it is clear and not “foggy” like the plastic ones get over time. The blades are removable from the glass jar and dishwasher safe. You can leave the blades screwed on to the jar and place in the dishwasher that way. I usually remove the blades once a month and wash them. There is a gasket that can also be removed and cleaned. Also the glass jar holds a lot. This blender can handle working hard whether the jar is full or if you are making a small batch. The base has buttons instead of a dial which I prefer. It’s easy to wipe clean and doesn’t take up a ton of space. As a smoothie lover, I initially purchased this model for the smoothie button. It makes perfect smoothies every single time.
Cons:
It is definitely loud. You’re gonna want to pause the TV while blending because there is no way you will hear it over this blender! One other drawback is that the metal bolt or knob the jar fits into on the base gets a little rusty over time. You just need to be sure the bottom of the blades (that fits into the base) is completely dry after washing before you place it in the base. Also, that bolt in the base gets turned slightly when you take the jar off the base. So eventually you have to turn it with your hand to get the jar to seat properly when placed back in the base.
Overall the pros definitely outweigh the cons for me. Love this blender! Can’t wait for my new one to arrive!
