This is just what I was looking for I had bought a less expensive one on Amazon & regretted it after the 1st use! But once I bought this OXO one I am SO very happy You get what you pay for and sometimes its a hard lessen to learn. Works great with sticky molasses, corn syrup, peanut butter etc You name it the item will just plop right out & it is SO easy to clean just take it apart wash it thoroughly let dry & twist back together. You will NOT regret this purchase !!!

I have quite a few OXO products and I find them to be of high quality and durability. This unit is very easy to take apart and clean. It’s a great tool to measure things that aren’t easy to measure: like yogurt or sour cream. That could take a long time with a standard measuring cup and it would be messy. This device makes it easy and clean to do that.

If you bake at all, you’ll know how frustrating it can be to scrape fats and other sticky things out of traditional measuring cups. I use lard a lot when cooking and baking, and this little device makes it a lot easier. Just pull the plunger out to the preferred measurement, add your ingredient, push the plunger out, and scrape whatever’s left off the bottom. My only complaint so far is that it’s a little too easy to adjust, so when I’m packing the lard into the canister it sometimes moves and I have to readjust the measurement.
To clean it, push it closed as far as you can, then twist for removal. It goes through the dishwasher with no problems.
