Very easy to use but only when the avocado is definitely ripe enough! The part you use to scrape the avocado gets very congealed so I usually end up using the slicer and the blade to remove the seed then just use a spoon for the rest instead! A handy little tool but I’d say not absolutely necessary!

If you eat avocados, you NEED this! Seriously has been the best kitchen gadget we’ve had! It makes cutting avocados incredibly easy and taking the seed out easy as well (no more hitting the seed with a knife to get it out). It’s sharp enough to get the job done but not enough to cut your hands. It’s also comfortable and easy to use. Advice for cleaning is to clean it right after you’re done, otherwise it’s a lot harder to clean when the avocado has dried. Great kitchen tool for a great price!

SO we do like it and it does work well. the two things I’ll say is DO NOT put it in the dishwasher! The metal blades that grip and remove the seed/pit got a bit of surface rust on them. No biggie, I cleaned it off and it’s not been an issue since with hand washing. Other issue is, it doesn’t really slice the avocado like it shows. Maybe the ones we’re trying are too ripe, but it tends to push and mush it as opposed to actually slicing it. That said, it’s a handy tool and we use it often.

Slicing the avocado and removing the pit – fantastic! Both work wonders, so I am happy about it. But the plastic part that is supposed to remove the avocado half from the peel and slice it does not work at all, unless the avocado is so far from ripe it’s not that great to eat. Photo shows to the left the avocado removed and sliced with the tool – you can see it gets mushy and unappealing – on the right, two halves removed with a spoon and sliced with a knife. So, basically the tool would be perfect either if the plastic cutter would have been absent, or if it had metal little blades instead of plastic to slice through the flesh.
