This line of cymbals is absolutely incredible… I bought this crash for the sole purpose of trying to compare it to a 2002 18 medium crash, and it is almost identical. It’s very loud and cuts through heavy mixes, and all around great. I am gonna start using these as my main cymbals now… With the exception of my 2002 Reverand Al’s big ride. I HIGHLY recommend this line of cymbals and this crash in particular.

First off, it has the Paiste sound. So it is bright and sits on the higher frequency spectrum of cymbals. It’s very far from what you would expect from the other brands. If you like this sound, then you’ll like the PST7. It’s great for gigging and sounds almost like it’s processed. Like an EQ was already applied to them. For the price the PST7 is a great pick to play for most genres of music except for maybe metal.

I decided to go with Paiste for a change from Zilds..I found the PST 7 to be an amazing value not just the price but the incredible sound these cymbals have.their crisp ,cut thru any music and bright.the attack is awesome … again the price won’t break the bank.

I have nothing but Paiste cymbals. Always have. Always will. I had a couple stolen from the studio and have finally finished replacing and upgrading. I love mixing up the different flavors, not just sizes. I have a 22″ 404 ride, a 16″ 2002 crash, 10″ PSTx Pure Bell, 10″,12″ and a 16″ China Color Sound 900s, 13″ HH and now the 18″ PST7 to complete my kit. It fits my setup perfectly and sounds great. And the price can’t be beat.

For a low end cymbal these sound much better than Zildjian i series or Sabian B8 and they do so without breaking the bank since they are so cheap

This cymbal sounds fantastic–very similar to the much more expensive 2002s. A responsive cymbal with a clean, bright, and warm sound. At this price it’s a hard cymbal to beat!

I’m really impressed with what Paiste has done with the PST 7 line. A traditional looking and sounding cymbal very reminiscent of the 2002 line at a very reasonable price.

The sound is bright and shimmering, like you’d want from a Paiste crash cymbal. The medium weight gives it just enough body and presence to sound full without being clangy. It doesn’t have quite the same nuance you’d expect from a pro-level cymbal, but this is less than half the cost of a new 2002.

The top and bottom lathing help the cymbal open up easily and speak very clearly at any volume.

This is the first beginner/intermediate-level cymbal I’ve played that has gone above and beyond what you’d expect from a cymbal in this price range. Whether you’re on a budget because you’re just starting out, setting up a practice kit, or doing gigs where you don’t want to take the “good stuff” you’ll find PST 7 has something to offer.
