The week this product arrived, a friend managed to get a thorn in his tire. We rode to his house and completed the job in 5 minutes. Here are the steps:
-Turned bike upside down and removed wheel
-removed inner tube from tire
-Found the hole (you may need water or soapy water to help)
-Sanded hole area to be patched at least the size of the patch
-Applied the sticky patch. Be careful removing it from it’s backing because it is a gooey sticky mess if you aren’t careful. Smoothed it out to remove air bubbles
-installation is opposite of removal. Align valve in tube with hole in wheel first
-Push tire and tube onto wheel.
-Pump with air and go bike!
The bike was a Trek about 7 years old, 26″ standard style, not MTB or racing type. We did not need the included tire tools, just an air pump. It comes with a little piece of sand paper, but since I knew about it before I left I brought my own sandpaper so I can use the kit sand paper in a real emergency. Sanding the hole prior to patching seems important to remove any loose grim around the hole too allow proper adhesion. The patches are very gooey and sticky. This kit seems good for punctures without having to carry a spare inner tube but won’t help if the wound is much larger than a hole from something the size of a standard sized 3.5mm headphone jack.
The tire held up for the afternoon ride, if the patch does not work long term, I’ll update this post. Overall I was happy it is light weight and easy to use.

This is my second set, that I bought for me wee ones biking kit. Unfortunately I’ve had the unlucky experience of having to use these patches a good few times, and they are great, so quick and easy to use, and are really durable. Just find the puncture, clean it, and peel and stick the patch down, sorted! The tyre leavers are nice and strong, but still soft enough to protect your wheels, even managed with ease (i ise that term loosely) to get Gator skins on and off without even such as a slight bend in the thin tips of the levers (if you know you know!). Would Def recommend!.

I have recently found that I purchased this kit years ago and had never done a review. Good thing since now I have used all the patches and glue. They all worked well as expected and the levers are still under the seat of my bike without a scratch after using for such a long time (about 3 years). I do all the tire changing in my 4 bikes and never felt the need for buying more levers. This kit is really inexpensive and does the job well. That reminds me that I need to buy more patches from Park Tool.

The levers work great. I’ve used them to change many flat tires.
The patches will get you out of a jam, but that’s it. These patches are not a permanent solution. They’re useful if you get a flat on the side of the road and don’t want to spend the time applying a glue patch, but once you get home you pretty much have to throw out the tube and replace it with a new one.

The tire levers are made of pretty strong material, not likely to break easily, and they can take the tire off. I did not expect much from the patch kit, but they actually work pretty well. I patched a puncture in the rear tire of my road bike with one of the sticker type patch, and pumped to 90 psi. The tire stayed inflated, no leak so far for a week (daily 5+ miles). 4 star because the lever is somewhat short, and you need some effort while working around the rim. Also, I was expecting some more detailed instructions of how these levers work, since I am new to changing tires. But there aren’t any instructions. You can search in online, but a brief printed instruction could be helpful. Good product overall.

I upgraded my bike to one with road tires, and was planning on going on my first longer ride, when I realized I should probably prepare myself in case I get a flat. Good thing I did! I literally had to use the levers & repair kit 2 days after I got it! The set comes with 3 levers, but you really only need two to get the tire popped off. I’d save the third in case one of the two ever breaks, but plan on carrying only 2 with me. The kit worked great – this was my first time doing it, I was by myself, and I’d never seen anyone else do it in person, but had watched a few youtube videos to prepare myself. Not too difficult, and got the job done, so what more can I ask for?
