I have used Tama Iron Cobras and DW 5000 (I think 5000). They are all good pedals, really. I think this pedal is a little faster and has some good solid attack. The interchangeable cams are good if you play a certain style and need a different feel. Also I personally prefer the belt drive on any pedal. The footboard is nice, I found the Iron Cobra and DW to eat your foot apart if you didn’t have on shoes. Overall I really like the adjustment and versatility this pedal offers.

まず前提として、予算的にも、概ね気に入って使っています。
が、購入決めた当初、たしかダブルチェーンのはずれ止めのピン付きだったと思っていましたが、来たのはシングルチェーンモデルでした。たしかこれ2000ではなく800あたりの機種名のモデルですね。バネや角度の調整で、何とか身の丈あってる感じで使っています。

I’ve used DW, Pearl, and Tama pedals for most of my performances, and this one is by far the most versatile pedal on the market. Other pedals may match it’s smooth feel and stability, but the interchangeable cams are genius! No other pedal I’ve ever used has as many options to personalize your kick pedal like this one. By-the-way, the strap drive is sweet, too!

This pedal has a really good feel to it. I had compared it with about every pedal out there and this was my pick. I like it because you can feel it under your feet really well, because it is not too light, but not too heavy. For me, it was better than the DW9000, Trick Bigfoot, Iron Cobra, and the Pearl Demon Drive. I actually had the Tricks and believe it or not, I like the feel if these better, as they are easier to keep track of under your feet. There really isn’t much to complain about here, and I haven’t even tried the other 3 sets of cams it came with. Pearl really did their homework here. Thanks Amazon for the great price

When I play hard, the pedal will creep slowly counterclockwise until there’s practically no leverage and the beater is digging into the unprotected portion of my bass drum head. I’ve had my kit professionally set up and this still happens. It is literally the most infuriating thing I’ve ever experienced and nothing fixes it. I’ve tried paying a drum pro to set up my kit, I’ve tried placing plywood under the pedal and driving screws through — it will literally creep over the screws. One of these days I’m going to get enough money to buy a new pedal then I’m going to have a Office Space style session in my back parking lot with a sledge hammer and take out all of the immense rage I have toward this pedal. I wouldn’t sell this F****** thing to my worst enemy.

I purchased these at the end of 2013 (literally a day before New Years Eve,) and despite how much I liked the customization and options that these provided I had to return them due to a flaw.
I couldn’t quite put my finger on what the cause was, though it seems that it was tied to the drive shaft system. Now let me preface by saying that I understand that most slave pedals will not feel identical to the primary pedal, however I’ve played on some Iron Cobras where they felt extremely close. So with that said, it seems that these pedals, once again, seemingly due to the drive shaft, have issues with the slave pedal not retaining the response that I feel it should have. The biggest thing is that when the drive shaft was straight (without either pedal being set to an angle,) the slave pedal felt pretty decent, however any angle no matter how drastic eliminated any response in the slave pedal.
A video I found on youtube titled “Problem with Pearl Eliminator P-2002C” illustrates the issue.
If only Pearl would eliminate (haha, pun intended,) that issue, these pedals would own! The primary pedal felt great and the customization available on the pedal was very impressive and is the biggest reason I chose those over the Iron Cobras. They didn’t play nearly as good as Iron Cobras however and ultimately that’s more important. I’d certainly give these pedals higher ratings in the single pedal versions because the primary pedal was great!

I am a beginner drummer and I received this pedal as a gift in Jan 2010.
I have been using it only for a week or so in my practicing. This is my first upgrade to a decent pedal from the student-grade cheap pedal I used before.
The most notable and desirable attributes I can already see are quiet operation and adjustability. The drive mechanism is absolutely noiseless, there is no clanking or other noises from the chain, hinges, cam, spring or any other part. The pedal has quite a few possible adjustments which can be effected very easily and quickly using a standard drum key or no tool at all: the footboard leverage has three positions, the cams cam be exchanged to any of 4 cam inserts included in the box, each with a different shape/feel, the footboard’s traction rubber inserts can be re-arranged/removed, the footboard height has three settings, the beater angle has infinite adjustability and it can be adjusted independently from footboard height.
Additionally, the usual side-access hoop clamp and beater height adjustments are included, as is a nice carrying case with double zippers and two pockets and 3 allen keys, a drum key and 4 cam inserts.
