Exactly what I was looking for: lightweight, easy to handle, durable, decent tracking. Only complaint is that hatch storage is not much at all. Almost not worth having it the storage. Comfortable seat. Really like the built foot adjustments.

I want to be able to say this kayak is stable, but it is not as stable as I’d like. I have been in 4 kayaks and this one is tippy when entering and exiting. It is difficult to NOT tip. I’d like to take it out in the fall, but I don’t want to tip in cold water, so probably won’t. My 16 year old, who kayaks often, yelled “Yeah it’s tippy!” while she tipped and had to brace her hand on the bottom of the ramp with water up to her shoulder. Once you’re in the water, it’s better. I took my 78 year old mother out yesterday. She liked it and was able to get in and out without tipping – but I was holding it steady for her. She has been in 4 kayaks and also said it’s tippy when getting in and out. Once on the water she liked it and said it was the most comfortable seat so far.
Tracks well, speed is fine. Has rubber footrests that are set – not adjustable but spaced so that you should be able to find a comfortable spot. Seat and backrest are comfortable. Seat sits up from the bottom of the boat, so you’re not sitting in water if you do take on a bit. I added a thin square cushion and find it very comfortable.
I like the lip on the cabin oval. I can use it to lower myself in and pull myself to standing.
Because of the tippiness, I’m not comfortable trying to reach behind for anything in the storage area. Nor would I be able to shift my weight and reach the front storage bin – which is water proof. Sometime when I’m hot and in shallow water, I’ll try to reach those areas. The cupholder is nice, though shallow.
Size is comfortable for all. I’m 5’3″ my husband is 6’1″. I can lift it into the truck by myself. I might struggle to get it on a car roof alone.
Order was done through Amazon. Arrived on time which was one week after ordering. Delivery person didn’t call like instructions indicated. It was wrapped well and did not have any scratches or dents.

After searching everywhere for a kayak (the stores have none in stock), I found this one on Amazon. I was skeptical after reading the mixed reviews. First of all the price was slightly higher than regular retail price, but not terrible. The delivery day and time was scheduled. I received it on the day scheduled. The time was between 3 and 6 pm. I got a call at 3:12 saying he was close. He arrived at 3:25. The kayak was wrapped in bubble wrap and plastic with extra to reinforce each end. The delivery man was very polite and helpful. I was very pleased with the delivery! Of course I inspected it and found 2 small gouges but nothing significant. This was the first time I had ever been in a kayak, so I don’t have expertise but at first I felt it was a little tippy. I found that getting in and out of it was the most difficult part. As long as I was centered in the middle, I felt stable. I took the kayak out in a lake so the water was pretty calm. I think there are more stable kayaks out there, but this one isn’t terrible. It’s fairly lightweight so I can load it and carry it myself (I am a 66 year old female).

UPDATE: After using this kayak 7 times at 2-4 hours per outing, I can say I love this Kayak! I’m more use to it now and found out I can edge on it very comfortably. If you never kayaked before you might not be able to appreciate how maneuverable this is. You will just think it’s tippy or unstable. It’s NOT. It’s fast and maneuverable‼️😎
The only negative for me is it’s not as easy to get in or out of compared to a sit on top kayak but that’s because I’m old and fat. I highly recommend this kayak for intermediate kayakers. Beginners — I still recommend unless they are non active type of people.

This kayak is Lightweight, Easy to Paddle and Transport, Tracks Well, and it’s Fast. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least.
The bottom has a modified V shape hull so it’s a little more tippy than a heavy, flat-bottomed SitOnTop kayak. But, I got used to it in a few minutes
and was loving paddling this sit inside kayak. It’s very responsive. Now, getting in and out: Easy Peasy‼️ I practiced a few times in my garage. Best advice I can give is: sit down first on the cockpit frame right behind the backrest (I sat on the backrest 😂), swing one leg in, then the other leg in as you lower your butt into the seat. Just keep your center of gravity low and hold onto the cockpit sides. Best to get in and out in water that’s only a few inches deep while you’re getting used to it. . Getting out: hold on to the sides and raise your butt up onto the cockpit frame and backrest. One leg out then all together push up with your hands and stand up and lift your other leg out. That’s it. And by the way, I’m 65 yrs old with 2 artificial hips and 30 lbs overweight.
The foot stops inside the Kayak are great also. 4 different positions for various leg lengths. I’m loving this kayak and it’s a game changer from my sit on top kayak. I highly recommend this Pelican Maxim 100. Worth every dollar 👍😎

Haven’t taken it out yet – but it looks and feels like it’s going to be a smooth, steady ride. Nice design, comfortable seat and foot pedals reach up hide enough for a short person. Nice wide cockpit. I kayak in waters that go from glassy to choppy and because this has a “rudder” steering will be much easier if caught in waves.
Very happy with it. Can’t wait to try it!
The only reason that it is T in the water now is because it came with water in it, due to the packaging being torn which also allowed for dark scuffing marks on the top sides and the bottom. Very unhappy with that. The young delivery guy had nothing for me to sign, was going to drop and run without inspection. Found a shipping invoice inside from a door company , and no invoice for me.
CEVA also had 2 shipments with the same number so that was fun.

I toyed with the idea of an inflatable kayak, but as soon as I put this in the water, I was so glad I opted for a hardshell. Will it win races? Probably not, but I’m satisfied with the quality and performance. It’s light enough to load onto my sedan after a river paddle and easy enough to carry solo. I also was able to snag this for a song of a deal and they delivered to my door. An absolute no brainer I will enjoy for years to come.
