My daughter is in kindergarten and has been studying penguins in school. I was very excited to add this book to her learning curriculum. I really can’t say enough good things about this book. It is a good book, full of basic information on various species of penguins. When large words, such as “regurgitate” are used, they are followed up with appropriate definitions. (So, for anyone who just NEEDS to know, the baby chicks eat regurgitated food from their mothers.) The photographs that accompany this book are beautiful and appropriate. They present a variety of penguins in various situations that accompany the information well.
Penguins covers information on penguin population, geography, diet, swimming speeds, parenting, coloration, hearing, specifics on largest and smallest species of penguins, mating, chicks, and colonies. There is a huge variety of topics in this very small book. The topics could easily be expanded on for a week of penguin learning.
The only negative for me, is truly a small one. On one page the height is in cm and weight is in lbs and the next page the height is cm and weight is in kg. It would be nice to use a consistent form of measurement for carryover throughout the book. My daughters love this book and I do too. Easy to read, information, engaging, beautiful, and well organized. I would highly recommend this book. I have a 3 year old and 5 year old. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

When a homeschool mom sees an educational book, you better bet she gets it! But definitely if that book is by Baby Professor. This Baby Professor “Penguins: Meet Mr. Flappy Feet” is a cute book that includes 14 pages of information about different species of penguins, habitat information, physical attributes, mating tendencies, parenting style, and information about penguins’ young.
When going through this book, my kids were intrigued by the various tidbits of information. Each page of information is short and simple reading that is easy to understand for young kids and enjoyable for older kids too. My kids asked lots of questions while reading this book and we discussed penguins even further.
This book has beautiful pictures of penguins in different situations and habitats. Beautiful pictures depicted life as a penguin. Each page has a picture and a side bar of information so it is easy to read and view the pictures that compliment the text.
I am hardly ever disappointed with Baby Professor and today I was not with this book on Penguins. I received this e-book for free in exchange for my honest review. This incentive did not affect my review of this e-book.

As a teacher, I approached this book with an eye towards using it for a research unit that we do on different types of animals, including penguins. First, I liked that the photos were large and bright, encouraging young readers to stay engaged through the book. Also, the book includes complex sentences, but only one per page usually, so my students get an opportunity to encounter the sentence structure without being overwhelmed. Additionally, the pages are essentially a collection of brief, fun facts, introducing several content specific words (“countershading” and “regurgitated food”) which are explained within the text.
I did not, however, give 5 stars because I found a typo in the text (“specie” instead of “species”), and I noticed a few grammatical errors (missing commas, primarily.) Because of this, I will share this book at home with my children and enjoy the facts and photos, but I would think twice before using this text in my classroom.

I decided to order this book for my Kindle Fire so that my nieces and nephews could have something enjoyable to play with when they come over, or when I have to babysit them, etc. and so I like to have something that will keep them busy for a moment.
This book comes from a set of “Baby Professor” books. I have previously ordered the one about Pandas, and they absolutely loved it. I decided to try this book, titles “Meet Mr. Flappy Feet”. There are about 200 other books that are part of this series, and many of them are either free, or at a very low cost on amazon.
This book is fantastic. It is choc full of basic information on all the different species of penguins. I really enjoyed that after words that may be difficult for children to understand come up, they are followed with easy, appropriate definitions.
The photographs in this photo are absolutely amazing. There is a plethora of information provided about population, diet, geography, swimming speeds, parenting style, different coloration, how their hearing works, different kinds to penguins, mating, what their chicks are like, and how they live in colonies. This is coupled with stunning pictures what are great to look at. This book could easily be used as a picture book by asking questions about the pictures, or pointing out facts on each page instead of having your child read word for word.
This book is a perfect way to keep your kids entertained at home, or on the go.
