I loved the idea of the long bar so several hummers can sit at once. Unfortunately this feeder is very high maintenance and very tricky, almost impossible to fill without making a big sticky mess. I would not buy again nor would I recommend it. Once it is up it is great but the difficulty of filling it to hang without a bunch of nectar spilling out is not worth the trouble. I have used many types of feeders over the past 40 years this is one I would not buy again.

It’s a great concept but overall it isn’t very functional. It has to be exactly level which is hard to do and spills very easily.

It really is a great idea. The strings provided with the adjustable cord locks are really nice. You definitely want to hang this feeder before filling it. You’ll definitely want to use a better funnel to fill it than the one provided. Place it in an are that is not likely to get high winds, otherwise is will swing and slosh the liquid out. Mold built up inside of this feeder faster than traditional style feeders. You’ll definitely want to use an appliance cleaning brush to clean the inside of the tube. I couldn’t get all of the mold out of the rubber end stoppers. This feeder did not stop the territorial behavior of the birds. My mom has 4 feeders and each one has a dominant male guarding it.

I would give a lower review if possible. This thing is going in the trash. It is made from cheap plastic and has a giant sticker on it that is nearly impossible to remove. Furthermore, the tube came with a flower missing and no replacements. Lastly the feeder is so light weight and imbalanced that a single gust of wind tips it from side to side, spilling sugar water everywhere. It is impossible to fill and transport as it can not stay balanced when not hung on perfectly equal length strings. The whole thing is infested with ants and 0 hummingbirds have used it in over a week of owning it (even though I’m using the red nectar attractant and it is adjacent to other established feeders that feed at least 50 birds a day).

This is a great feeder. Had another one for years but raccoons got to it. We hang it in front of the picture window and we’ve had up to 20 hummers at it at once.

Got mine (2 ft model) 3 days ago. I put it up immediately, replacing 2 of the 3 feeders I had been using. It took the little guys about 5 min to find it & go to eating . I left up one of my other feeders just in case they didn’t like the Hummerbar. As soon as that ran out of nectar I put it away & I have a dozen or so hummers feeding constantly on the Hummerbar. If it is hung level & only filled about 1/2 way as recommended by manufacturer, it is much easier to fill than my other feeders. Just remove the rubber stopper, use the small funnel provided. I bring a small cup with pour spout out & pour in. I’m right on a lake with lots of wind lately. It doesn’t seem to bother the little guys at all. I like it so much, I’m going to get another as soon as Amazon can get it to me.

Me encanto y a los colibries también. No tenia ganchos donde colgar así que los lazos que tiene este bebedero me ayudaron a poder colgarlo sin problema y atrajo rápidamente a los colibries, tengo hasta 4 de ellos. La única desventaja es que para llenarlo debes de hacerlo estando colgado, de lo contrario se te tirara el liquido. Ya compré una segunda pieza.
Tengan cuidado de no llenarlo arriba de las flores por que se tirara, tiene que un poco mas abajo para que si el viento lo mueve no se derrame.

I have had a fewHummingbird feeder. The filling of this one guarantees spilling the contents. They fail to supply two small S hooks, which would help but Not completely sole the filling and cleaning required. Buy yourself a larger round hummingbird feeder

The only thing that I don’t like is how hard it is to get and keep level. I solved that by discarding the rope it comes with, and using chain (I counted the links to make each side exactly the same). I also used a level to put 2 nails in the eve of my house. So it hangs perfectly straight, and I can take it down for cleaning and put it right back up without worrying it won’t be level. It’s bee resistant, and I love how I can see the hummer’s tongue going in because it’s clear. I’ve seen as many as 8 hummingbirds on it at once when it’s a bit chilly.

I watched the video clips & thought this was the coolest hummingbird feeder! Unfortunately, in real life, not so much. The other reviewers mentioned the labels being awkward to remove (check) (and yes I soaked in water and used a nonabrasive brush as suggested by the manufacturer!!) – yes, it’s awkward to fill – yes, there is some Rube-Goldberg-ing to be done when putting the feeder up – but also, the hummingbirds do not come to this feeder, which, after all, is its main raison d’etre. (As the manufacturer suggests, give it a week, because hummingbirds take a minute. I left mine up the entire season, May through September, thank you very much.) I have loads of hummingbirds who love my property, but they would not eat from this unit. Also, try cleaning this. I bought several long-handled tube cleaning brushes, and it is a bear to clean, whatever tools you have. Oh, and yes, the bugs love this contraption.

I have been using these for a few years now. We have swarms of hummingbirds every year and these feeders work better than others we have tried. In my original review I rated this feeder 3 stars because the manufacturer was placing a large ugly sticky paper lable on the feeder that couldn’t be removed without leaving a gooey paper residue. They are still placing a label on the feeder, but it is made from a different material that can be peeled off without much effort and doesn’t leave much residue.
These feeders allow more hummers to feed at the same time, but they still fight over it and chase each other away.
For those who complain about leakage, just don’t overfill the feeder and you won’t have that problem (unless you’re experiencing high winds).

There are better options out there. I have over 50 Hummers coming to my feeders. I saw this and thought it would be great for their “fuel up” period before the Fall migration. First, it is hard to fill if you’re hanging it using the strings that come with it. It can be done,but you will spill at least as much as you fill. Second, it s difficult to keep filled. Any wind makes it move…moving causes waves which then create additional instability and increased spillage. If you place it against a fence or wall to stop the movement, you lose use if half of the feeding ports. If you want to get this to work as it should, you will need to invest in additional hangers\hooks and some posts to mount them to. Finally, I found that the Hummers are still too possessive to share that many ports so close together. My other feeders are getting much more use and satisfying more Hummers. Too bad, I was hoping this would be a fun feeder to watch.
