I have had multiple feeders in sun, shade and howling wind and no problems w them leaking.
As for being unable to see nectar level because of containers’ red color I have zero difficulty with that also.
The old glass one was pretty cool but absolutely believe this one works just as well and is more pleasing to one’s eye.
Update: FYI. After having two for a month and rotating locations it seems hummers DO prefer the clear glass feeders (# 209B) vs red colored plastic feeders. I fill clear glass feeders twice as often as red plastic model-I think it has to do w/ perch configuration.

I have several types and manufacturers of hummingbird feeders.Aspect to Wild Bird Unlimited. Perky Pet makes the best! This feeder is big. Not for one bird. It is not the most attractive feeder to me but stays busy all day! Out feeds all the other brands I have.. Yet not the most expensive. Very satisfying. Thanks ,Buck🌴

These hummingbird feeders are THE BEST! They come apart and go into the dishwasher for cleaning. The plastic fluid containers are not as vulnerable to breaking as are the glass containers. No red coloring needs to be added to the fluid because the container is red. Replacement yellow-flower feeder-vents are available on Amazon. We saved the lower parts from our original glass container feeders and they fit the plastic feeder-containers. That way, we have cleaned lower parts to immediately substitute when the feeders are brought in for refilling. The plastic containers don’t seem to be as vulnerable to freezing damage?

When it arrived, one of the ‘perch stands’ was broken. I didn’t contact seller, but since have learned others had the same problem. Guess they need to package it better. But, the thing I do like about it is that the ‘water barrier’ for ants is built in. I had to purchase separately for all the others feeders. And it’s already tinted red, so I don’t need to add a drop of food coloring.

Stop looking now and buy either Perky-pet’s red plastic or clear glass hummingbird feeders. I bought one of each. The glass one came very well packed and boxed directly from the company. These are the ones that keep bees out. The flowers have a little spout that makes it impossible for bees to reach the nectar so they don’t bother with it. The hummingbirds love this feeder!

Bees were taking over my hummingbird feeders, and the hummers were not able to fight them off to get in to drink. I began to search for “bee-proof” feeders to use this season. There were several other things I wanted in a feeder as well. It was important to have a wide opening/mouth in the container that holds the sugar water, so they can be cleaned easily. I also wanted perches all the way around, so the birds can stop and rest when they feed. This Perky Pet feeder was one of the few that met my needs. I originally bought two. At first, the bees were interested and tried to figure out how to get to the sugar water. They could not access it through the flowers because of the smaller holes and the elongated neck on the flowers. However, they began to cluster along the seam of one feeder where the two bottom sections come together. The hummingbirds could still access the flowers, which was a good thing, but I did not want the bees hanging around my porch! I took that feeder down and cleaned it thoroughly. When I refilled it, I took special care to make sure the seam was clean and dry and that it was tightly fastened. No more bees! I bought one more of the feeders when the hummingbird numbers started increasing. Today I ordered 2 more. In addition, my neighbor ordered 2, and after sharing the Amazon link to these feeders on Facebook, three other friends have ordered them. When care is used in cleaning, filling and putting this feeder together, it works exactly as I need it to! I DID NOT receive ANY discount for this product, although the company should probably hire me as a spokesperson for their product!
