After reading all of the negative reveiws I was skeptical i must admit. Once arrived the feeder is built very well. I do a lot of woodworking on the side for years now. The only reason I purchased this product was we recently moved and the wife wanted Birds now! Still trying to get my woodworking shop setup. And I will admitt for the price I paid for this product there is no way I could have built it for anywhere near that price.
Also purchased the 36″ bird feeder extension pole so the birds wouldnt make a mess all over our deck. After that was installed I filled the feeder and hung from the new pole. It is a little windy where our new house is so it whipped around some. Two weeks later we found the feeder 30′ down laying on the ground. The cable that runs through the center to hange was all that was left. Went down to the ground picked up the bird feeder and to my surprise it is in one piece. Gathered up the little plexiglass panes and the garage I went. I took the hanging cable threaded it back through and then discovered what had happened. The crimp fitting they used on the bottom was not secured very well. I simply use a #8 guage electrical wire ring terminal and crimped it on to the end of the cable. Filled the feeder up once again and hung from the pole. It has been there with no problems since.
So to give merit to some of the negative comments check the crimp fittings on the upper loop and the lower termination point. If all are good this little feeder is perfect!

Just purchased this last week and frankly it’s a nice bird feeder. Real wood, holds a lot of birdseed, fairly unique and it stands out in my yard in an attractive way. Now regarding some of the negative comments I read here before I purchased this item …yes, its non-treated wood that is nailed or stapled together, not glued. It has thin plastic windows – while attractive- are somewhat flimsily. In summary though, the construction is reasonably good and quality is better than average. Considering the price is only $17 (free shipping with Prime) I consider it good value even if I only get a year out of it. BTW the birds love it; check out the Cardinal in my pic.

As someone who buys about 400-500 orders on Amazon a year, I’m usually somewhat satisfied on the products sent. In this case all I can say is WOW. For the money I was expecting a cheap box with issues. It turned out to be a carefully planned well put together feeder.
The patterned plastic slides up so that you can remove clean and maintain feeder easily. The feeder itself has a nice top and a very sturdy cable from the bottom to the cable hook itself. The cable itself seems to be thick enough to pull a car, let alone a bird feeder. This is by far the best bird feeder I have seen and used in 20 years of owning and purchasing them.
I know it’s not that relevant, but even the sticky bubble wrapping appeared to have been done with care.

I would give a 5 star review but there is a MAJOR design flaw you need to fix before you load up all 3lbs this claims to hold. And it does hold a lot of seed. This thing is much bigger than you’d think just looking at the picture, make sure your setup can hold that much weight. The glass plates are inserted from the top in a slot on both sides, and a bigger bird can push their head under the opening where the seed comes out, pushing the glass plates up the slots, and then ALL the seed dumps out in a big pile. Trust me I learned the hard way after wasting a lot of seed. I used some pieces of wood shims and pressed them into the slots by the glass plates on every plate in order to trap the plates from being able to be pressed up. Works like a charm. The plates should be made longer by Birdscapes so that they push against the roof when attached, then it’d be 5 star all the way!

And really, what matters is how something lasts over time. I bought this in 2020 & now its 2021 and look at it 😢😡 This is what it looks like after ONE year.
The roof is made of materials not suited for outdoor use and is poorly constructed. Let me explain: the shingles are tacked on with very tiny nails and so after just a few months they begin to fall off. Then the boards that they were attached to literally deteriorate due to being exposed to the elements. Look at the manufacturer’s photo – zoom in to look at the edge of the board under the shingles – it’s pressed wood NOT cedar and that will ALWAYS fall apart if exposed to moisture. So unless you plan it keep this indoors, it will fall apart. I truly feel most of the positive reviews are based on when first receiving the feeder but my review is about the durability of the feeder. And if you want something that lasts, this bird feeder isn’t it!
And yes, a bird feeder should be able to withstand the elements- my other feeder which was purchased in the 1990’s (yep, you read that right) is still in use.

The Perrky Pet Mountain Chapel Bird House is a great purchase. It is very sturdy, easy to fill with seed and fairly easy to clean. The roof lifts up and out of the way for easy filling with bird seed and the seed filters down into 4 openings at the bottom, and does not get clogged. It also has a little platform around the outside for the birds to perch and also helps catch discarded seed. I would definitely gift it to another birder. It is simple to use, very sturdily made out of wood, and has a warm look to it, for bird enthusiasts and for the birds.

Beautiful product and very well made…Except the seed openings could be a touch bigger to allow for ease in seed flow out. I also orderd the recommended oil sunflower seeds by Wegner’s and they work ok. The feeder has attracted 3 Yellow Finches. I hope it will attract more birds over time.
