Nice enough bird feeder. However, it is not remotely squirrel resistant, never mind squirrel proof or squirrel baffling. The design actually makes it EASIER for squirrels to eat the seed. See photo attached. The squirrel is using the cage around the feeder, presumably intended to “baffle” them, to hold on and chow down. If you have any concerns about squirrels, look elsewhere. I’m not against squirrels, and initially I didn’t mind them eating too, but, they’re going through seed pretty quickly and seem to have scared away the birds. 🙁

This is an attractive feeder and holds a lot of seeds. The chipmunks love it. The outer wire cage makes it easy for them to hold on while they eat. The lid attachment it a bit difficult but secure when properly done.

I will admit I love this bird feeder. However, it is by no means squirrel proof. As you can see by the photos, the plastic inner container is cracked in several places due to the squirrels jumping on and off causing it to fall off the hook. I have had to glue the inner container back together 3 X’s 😡. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful bird feeder. I love watching all the different wild birds come to feed from it. Not sure where I could order another inner container for this bird feeder but still like it regardless.

EDIT: It’s been non-stop squirrels not only on this bird feeder, but they figured out how to take off the lid and were actually inside it! Not squirrel proof at all! Seems to actually draw them in to it. It’s been a month since I left this other review and I obviously did it too soon! EXTREMELY disappointed that it does nothing to distract these squirrels! I wouldn’t mind feeding them too but they leave no feed for the birds! If squirrels are your problem, do not buy this bird feeder!
I bought this along with a shepherd’s hook to hang it from and set it in my yard next to the bird bath. Squirrels had been stealing all the seeds from my other one and so I specifically got one that they weren’t easily able to hang on to. So far, not one squirrel has gotten on to this one and the birds are able to easily eat the seeds from it. I especially like how it’s got multiple levels so several birds can feed at one time from it on different places. Plus it’s very cute and solidly made. Not super easy to get inside to clean, and taking on and off the lid is a challenge the first time, but once you figure it out it’s simple. I love this bird feeder and so do my local birds!

Took the birds a time or two to figure out how to get seed out – it is not a round hole in the side of the feeder but more of a round cup at each opening, the seed falls down into the cup – so the birds keep pecking on what would normally be the hole – also the bottom cups are right on the bottom but the wire they are suppose to hold does not go down that far, and they have a difficult time figuring out they will have to grab and hold on sideways to get to the cups. The squirrels don’t get to eat but they can shake them and get stuff on the ground. Glad I purchased them – the others the squirrels were literally chewing through to get seed so this is no longer an issue.

I bought this bird 🐦 feeder due to it advertising that it was squirrel proof!! Well I looked out first day it was hung and there was a squirrel hanging upside down with his tail wrapped around the wire that the feeder is hung by eating away! The cage around the feeder does not stop them from getting g to seed!! So if you plan on buying this particular feeder because it says squirrel proof…don’t bother 🙄 keep looking!!
