Tried ordering the black version but unfortunately it never arrived, so I had to wait a little longer and decided to go with the white! Normally I don’t write reviews but this turntable exceeded my expectations. Very heavy, durable and easy to set-up for those who may be new to this it was a very simple assembly. Sounds great, I upgraded the cartridge to an ortofon Concorde and it performed even better, however the stock pioneer cartridge it comes with is perfectly fine and capable of great sound quality by itself. A great value for the price and I recommend this turntable to anyone who wants something NICE for a fraction of the cost of other turntables out there

The power button works to turn on the unit but when I press the play button to actually spin and play the record, nothing happens. The light on the play button also does not come on. This is a let down because I’ve only used it twice to play a record. or two. I hope a replacement unit doesn’t have this issue as well.

I bought two turntables From this same owner, and it came without its counterweights, without its stylus And the worst thing is that when I turned them On they didn’t work. Do not buy from the seller, he offer me a refund for less than a half of the price of what I paid them.

This is an exceptional turntable for non-professional use. If you listen to a lot of vinyl and you want to play continuous mixes at home, buy two of these and a mixer. You’re getting excellent tone arm balance control, very responsive motor with impressive start/stop speed, and standard pitch adjustment. I’m sure you could use this professionally as well if you wanted, but I have no experience with that.
The only drawback is the hardwired RCA cables. I have no idea why it was designed this way. I haven’t had any negative experience with the cable that is provided, but just the presence of a hardwired cable makes me paranoid about the possibility of damaging them, and having to replace them.
Visually, the white model of this turntable looks very sharp among my gear. I can’t recommend it highly enough for people who prefer to listen to music on vinyl, especially if you play music for guests—it looks and sounds impressive.

I recently tried various audiophile type turntables to play my old vinyl records, and time and again they would start skipping on various records. Not a setup issue, it seemed more of an issue with how they handle anti-skating, or in some cases, don’t do anything.
Anyway, fired this thing up, hooked it up to a 70’s Pioneer receiver phono stage, and it’s sonic bliss. Such a joy to occasionally clear the digititus out of my ears with glorious analog sound. The crackles and pops are a reminder of how I used to listen to all my favorite music. No skipping, no fussing about, IT JUST WORKS.
FWIW, I had Technics 1200s for dj’ing back in the 90s, and this table obviously was inspired by them. Unlike the AT and similar copycat tables, this one has a heft and overall construction similar to my old tables. The icing on the cake is the price, much more reasonable than current or used 1200s.
Very happy with the price/performance value, and would definitely buy again.

I was looking for a new turntable for personal use and after extensive research, and being on a budget, decided on the PLX-500. I’ve got it hooked up to a pair of powered Kanto YU6’s, a 10” Velodyne sub, and couldn’t be happier! The sound, features, and overall build quality for the price can’t be beat. If there’s one thing I could change, it would be the outer plastic shell. I guess after 30+ years on my 1200’s, I’m a little spoiled. If you’re looking for a nice new deck at a great price for home use, look no further. Oh yeah, although the pre-installed cartridge does just fine for now, all you ex DJs and audiophiles out there will definitely wanna upgrade.

I’m playing a mix of 35 -65 year old vinyl albums as well as some new ones. They sound so good that this turntable was worth every penny. I’m also glad that the turntable I had back then was a PL112D with a Shure V15 cartridge so the old ones still sound great. There is some setup that is well spelled out in the directions, only an issue if you’re totally inept.
