This is actually the second option I tried to replace my factory head unit in my car. The first one (not from Pioneer) wouldn’t charge my phone properly, had poor sound quality and I couldn’t retain the factory USB port.
This one works like a charm. It does charge my phone correctly, the sound quality is nice for its price and I could retain all the factory options with the proper adapter I already got. It even got my factory rear view camera right from the start, without having to mess with the settings.

Product was defective. Seller did offer replacement but with your truck all torn apart it was an inconvenience to have to wait which led me to just going to Best Buy.

Installed in a 2009 F450 with the double din Metra kit for about a month now. Very easy to wire up and install and the fit was very clean. Tested with Android Auto and Apple Car Play and both work flawlessly. I do not have any troubles seeing the screen in daylight. The microphone for it picks up both passenger and driver clearly.

I have to assume the majority of the cost of this headunit is due to the fees involved in licensing Apple Car Play, because it’s pretty low on features, adjustability, and poor SQ. As far as music and sound quality goes, if you want to actually enjoy the songs and carpool Karaoke your butt off, you’ll be WAAAY further ahead (and certainly happier) with a $200-300 Pioneer, Kenwood, or JVC, and just use Bluetooth. If you must have Apple Car Play, or Andriod Auto for navigation, then I guess it will work. You do have to plug it in via the USB cable, but that’s fine as it charges the phone while you control the phone from the headunit screen. If you want full control/access even when driving, you need to wire a seperate toggle switch that acts as the hand brake ground. Then you can toggle it to fool the headunit into thinking you’re parked. At your own risk of course, I’m just an idiot on the internet.
Overall I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, however it is the cheapest “real” brand headunit with Car Play.

This radio was a great upgrade. It has great sound quality, the equalizer worked well and the wired Car Play / Android Auto functionality worked quickly. The screen touches were pretty sluggish and inside the head unit’s own UI it was pretty slow as well.
The unit I bought does show the issues others are reporting, that after 18 months of installation the radio turns off randomly and kicks feedback through all the speakers. It also started displaying a white screen with a number of colored lines and would require the car to be restarted a few times for it to work properly.

Works perfectly. I got this because my last radio had buttons for the volume up and down that wore down after a couple years and I’ve had no problems since getting this.

I’ve replaced factory systems before, but this is by far the best ever. I’ve often had problems with reduce radio reception and sound. This system is top notch. I would put it in any level of luxury or sports vehicle. My only complaint is that it lacks a face panel mute button. (UPDATE) I read the directions and learned the mute is accomplished by holding down the main menu button. The sound and display adjustments are minimal, but from my perception, why give an option to change perfection?

We have this same exact deck in 5 other vehicles. This one seems to have a very slow response time when selecting one of the buttons on the side, like home or volume or even the power button. Even if we click on an app. Also, it will randomly cut out and turn off. We put this in another vehicle. Did the same thing. Put it in another. Did the same thing. We even replaced the entire wiring to the car. And to the deck. Same thing. It’s defective and so many time of taking it out and putting it back in now the clips from the trim are coming loose. I guess we have to live with it. Such a bummer. It’s expensive and clearly it’s defective. We couldn’t even get it swapped out.

I bought this as an upgrade for my wife’s Toyota 4runner . This head unit has all of the bells and whistles. Easy to use and love the android auto function. Definitely pleased with this stereo. I recommend this if you are looking for a good radio that you won’t have to take a loan out to purchase. Big thumbs-up.
