This is the best rear flasher I have had in my 30 years of bike commuting. Don’t be fooled by imitators. You can use rechargeable batteries everyday but also have disposables as a back up in emergencies. I use it on an off-road trail and have received complaints from others that the flash is annoying. So a slower flash pattern may be helpful. It could use a helmet mount. I hang it off a zip tie that goes through the vent holes on my helmet. My previous one, which I had for years popped off and was crushed by a car. I had this one for a couple of weeks and it too fell off but survived.

This light is all you need. I have tried other lights on other bikes but in my opinion, the Superflash is perfect. Easy to mount and super bright even in the day. What I like most is that the battery life is excellent and I don’t have to worry about having to charge it every other ride. Highly recommend

Rear luggage racks most often incorporate a standard mounting point for a rear light. So why does the best-selling daytime rear light not include the bracket to use this mount? -1* for this nasty little bit of cost-cutting. (Planet Bike’s Grateful Red model includes the rack mount, but is not bright enough for daytime use)
That’s the ONLY complaint about this light. It’s simple, has a suitable mode for any use, is lightweight, and affordable.
Modes it has:
– Solid on (low profile)
– Superflash (daytime use; very bright & stroby)
– Solid on with occasional flash (good for nighttime)

This is a great tail light. I have had the same one on my bike for over 10 years now and it still works great. The new one works just as good. I like the hardware for mounting. It does not come with cheap stretch and hook silicone, with options for the seat tube or brake rails. It also came with batteries. It costs more than a lot out there but I do not regret a penny of it. It is bright for evening/early morning and night riding. The lighting pattern is very effective. I prefer to use my own rechargeable batteries which has worked great as my first unit is still going strong for over a decade. internal batteries when used up renders the device useless.

I don’t write a lot of reviews, but I do when merited. This is my 3rd purchase of this item over 15ish years. 1st one died after a decade, and the second one disappeared while I was cleaning my bike and suspect I accidentally threw it away.
If you are looking for a rear bike light that completely kicks a$$, don’t bother wasting any more time looking, just buy this. It easily gets you noticed during day rides, and is stupid bright if you ride from dusk til dawn. ( I almost feel sorry for the cars behind me at night, it really is bright, especially on flash mode.) The mount is simple and secure, and I never had one come loose or fall out in 10k+ miles.
Don’t try to save a few $$ and cheap out on a rear light. This one gets you noticed and protects your six. That is its singular purpose and no rear light does it better.

I’m pretty skeptical of most products and companies. If you are not being outright farmed, even the good products are not all that. But, every time I turn on this blinky, “Wow, that is f’ing great!”. It is stupidly wonderful. Planet Bike already made the second best blinky, the Seven, which is really good and somewhat cheaper. They could have just improved that a little and been fine. Instead they gave us the alien technology blinky from the future.
Seriously, this is almost perfect. Solid, good mounts, convenient, excellent battery life, good size, inexpensive if not cheap, almost too bright, very attention getting blink pattern. It is so effective that you can hear when it is on just by the sound of overtaking traffic. It would be nice if it had a wider coverage angle to the sides and up and down, but this is difficult to do. The Planet Bike Seven has extra LEDs that point sideways to help with this, but it is nowhere near as bright (it would be a good complement to the Superflash).
Planet bike also make the best headlight mount in the business. Unfortunately, their LED headlights fail to impress. Hopefully they will put the Superflash team on the headlights soon.
The other blinkys are just sad. Except the DiNotte, which is sexy, bright, beautiful and well over a hundred dollars and might get stolen and make you cry.

I do a lot of reading reviews before I buy almost anything, and this was no exception; when buying my wife’s bike, I asked the shopowner about lights, and he said there were a lot of good headlights, but by far the best taillight was this one. I don’t like buying on impulse, so I passed at that time. My wife and 7 year old son have Bell light sets from Walmart, and I have to say that that taillight is quite good, too, especially for the money. Most of our riding is at dusk, so I decided I needed a taillight for my bike, somewhat for myself, but also for riding with my son because I knew two lights were better than one, and his may be a bit low to be seen. I am glad I got this one; I felt it may be too bright for rearward approaching cars, but it is not. Once I looked behind me and saw the light blinking in a window reflection half a block away and it’s just right in brilliance; it also has more of an effective sideward area and not just straight behind, and does so better than the Bell lights. It is plastic, of course, but is not flimsy; the switch is three way-blinking, steady, and off. The bracket fits my seatpost snugly, and could be mounted on wheel posts for a frontward light. If you can afford a bike, you can afford this light, and there is no reason of which I know to spend more. I do not do a lot of riding, so batteries should last a while, and when these go, I’ll probably get lithium replacements. Attachment is a breeze, and there is a mounting clip/bracket that could fit on a belt, backpack, or such for versatility such as trick or treating, etc. I appreciate getting something and knowing this is just what I wanted and needed; this is one of those things.

This clips on the back of my bike easily and works well
