I wanted a dock to simplify cable management, and that worked with both my Lenovo Yoga 920/Windows 11 and my Elitebook 830 G7/Linux Mint 21.3 laptops. This dock did just that. I like the fact that I can make all the connections on the back (power, Ethernet, webcam, HDMI, usb to laptop, Logitech wireless dongle) all the back of the unit. It made the cabling simple and neat. Then there are USB and audio connections on the front. The USB are great for when I need to connect a FIDO key, thumb drive, etc since I can easily access them. The USB-C cable to connect the dock to the laptop is long enough to reach either side – important to me since the 2 laptops have USB-C on alternate sides! Lastly, the mount that allows for a vertical orientation frees up desk space.

The only thing that could be improved would be if it supported Thunderbolt for higher speed. However, it seems fast enough, and I am running a 3840×2160 monitor at 30hz with it.

Bought this for my Dell XPS 13 9360. So far works flawlessly and required zero setup time, just plug and play.

I currently have it hooked up to a monitor, audio, and USB. the USB Power Delivery worked great to charge my laptop. On reviewer said that when charging his fan was always on. This might be a bios or firmware issue on his/her XPS 9360, as this is not the case with mine.

    Highly recommended.

I found myself needing to work from home and wanted to have a good setup for my work laptop, a Dell Latitude 7480. The Dell branded USB-C hub I have at work is like $200+, so I was looking for an alternative. My requirements were USB-C connection, charging my laptop, HDMI, ethernet, and a few USB 3 ports for connecting peripherals.

This was the best priced hub that checked all the boxes.

Everything on my desk is connected to this hub, and when I need to use my computer, I just connect my laptop via 1 USB-C connector. My laptop charges just fine, and no issues connecting to a 1080p monitor at 75Hz, plus a keyboard, mouse, external hard drive, ethernet, phone cables, etc.

Great value for a USB-C charging hub. Plus it looks good and blends into the rest of my desk setup. Highly recommended!

I purchased this for use with a Macbook Pro (A1707, mid-2017 release of the 15″ model) and a Dell Latitude 7480. When I plugged in the MBP, everything (video over USB-C Alt-Mode, power delivery over USB-C, and USB peripherals) worked except the wired gigabit ethernet port. According to the packaging the ethernet chipset is Realtek RTL8153, so I installed the OS X driver from Realtek and that resolved it. The Dell Latitude 7480 worked without any additional driver. Charging over USB-C is rated at 3A@20V, somewhat lower than the OEM chargers for both laptops but more than sufficient to keep the laptops running while charging the battery. I actually have a second monitor, but figured that I didn’t want to deal with DisplayLink and wouldn’t mind using a separate cable to hook up that monitor directly to the laptop, so I purchased this dock rather than the higher priced model that supports multiple monitors. I did run into one issue: the Dell U2713H monitor would not wake up (most of the time) after the MBP has turned it off after the idle timeout; the backlight actually came on, with the HDMI logo showing on the top left corner, and the MBP detected the presence of the monitor, but nothing showed up on the screen, the only ways to get the monitor out of that state were to re-seat either the HDMI cable or the power cord on the monitor. I tried multiple HDMI cables which produced the same results. This was monitor-specific, as my 15-year-old Sony worked perfectly when connected through the dock. Also the Latitude 7480 worked with this setup perfectly. I decided to swap the two monitor connections, letting the dock drive the Sony and the laptop drive the Dell U2713H directly. This worked perfectly with MBP, but to my surprise HDMI out from Latitude 7480 to HDMI in on U2713H didn’t work at all: the laptop detected the monitor but nothing actually showed up on screen until I forced 1080i output from the Intel graphics utility. I had been in touch with Plugable support via email, and they offered to exchange the dock to see if the one I bought had a defect; but after finding out the monitor would not even work with Latitude 7480 via a straight HDMI to HDMI connection with no adapter or any third-party device in the middle, it became obvious to me that that something was strange with the monitor’s HDMI input. Plugable’s support department directed me to a different product that does not bring out the quirkiness of Dell U2713H. As someone who works in IT and deal with vendors daily, I must say this company values every sale it makes and goes above and beyond to support their products.

I have tested this with 3 different Dell laptops and it works great with all of them including power delivery. Even laptops that ship with a power adapter larger than 60 watts will work with the 60 watts delivered by the dock although the battery may charge more slowly. Dell laptops have a BIOS setting that turns off the warning at boot that you’re not using the correct power adapter.

Unlike the Chinese no-name docks, the 80 watt AC power adapter from Plugable runs cool and is UL listed so it’s much less likely to burn your house down. The unit itself also runs cool. Interesting it runs cooler than some of my USB 3 hubs.

I’ve tested the HDMI up to 4K and it works great. The audio output is quiet and clean. And the USB ports and ethernet port also work as expected. I’ve used it mostly with Linux Mint and some with Windows 10. Everything has been detected automatically. The only weirdness, which is harmless, is Linux also shows there’s a SPDIF digital audio output which there is. I suspect the audio chip in the dock has the capability but Plugable didn’t provide the output.

One note. As expected the provided USB-C cable works as expected but if you want to use a different cable make sure it’s a Gen 2 data cable and not just a charging cable or that’s all it will do is charge. You won’t have any HDMI output. The provided cable is both rather stiff and short. I bought a more flexible one from Cable Matters which also works great: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L0F6AJI/

Very easy set up. No set up at all, really! Just plug everything in and you’re ready to go. I hooked up a monitor via HDMI, a wired keyboard, receiver for a bluetooth mouse, external SSD and a smart chip reader I use for my job into the USB outlets, speakers into the audio out and an ethernet cable. The Dock connects to the computer with the included usb-c cable. Everything worked perfectly right away. Any of the three outlets on the Folio will work, and also charge the computer while it’s docked. I’m very happy I can just plug in ONE cable and turn my laptop into a desktop! Also, everything still works when you close the lid on the laptop.

Great device, super easy setup and truly plug and play. Connects to both my Surface Go and 2018 Macbook Pro beautifully with full functionality! Charge, audio, video, and data through one USB cable – This is truly the future.

This particular model only has one HDMI port which is fine for me but beware if you want multiple displays. The only thing I would change is the putting the audio output on the back of the device as I have Bose Companion speakers plugged into it, but I can understand why they did it for ease of headphone users.
