Easy to install in my Lenovo ThinkPad T400. Immediately recognized though not allocated. Had to upgrade windows to 64 bit version to take full advantage. 32 bit Windows will only recognize up to 4 gigs of ram.
Now everything is working great.

This kit is two sticks of 4 gb two make the 8. You have to install both chips for your computer to work.

I’m writing from my now upgraded HP Probook 4530s with these memory chips. Windows Experience index showed an increase from 5.5 to 7.3 on memory operations per second! That is 7.3 out of 7.9! So not only did the increase in amount of memory help my computer, but these memory sticks are actually performing faster with my setup! On top of that, the battery life of the computer has increased significantly. I am happy I went with these chips as they have a nice low CL rating for their class and a good price.

I just realized how bad a reputation this product has, but you might be misled because most of the failure testimonies are by a MAC USER.
Well this WINDOWS 7 Ready RAM DOES fail with windows as well.
“Make Life Simple” —— err, NOPE.
“IDEAL(sic) for upgrading your laptop” ——– uhm.. NEITHER.
Out of the box these RAMS caused an issue each. One would freeze the screen with a lineal pixelated image of the welcome screen right after booting, and the other one would send blue screens once the OS runs. Almost every program had issues with kernel32 etc.
DO NOT BUY THESE, even if the 5 dollar coupon is available, this is a bad product.
Amazon has been great so far refunding the money, and paying for the UPS send-back fee. If I had any trouble with this process I will edit this post. If not, Amazon, once again does its job in the best way possible.
I would only recommend Amazon NOT TO SELL products with such a high defective rate. But I doubt they, with all their intel, have not come to that very conclusion, maybe even considering the damaged RAMS this product is still profitable. Who knows, If you feel like risking it and have a couple of weeks to spare without your upgrade, go for it. You might actually save money with this one, but then again you might just as well end up going back to the UPS office to send it back and wait a week or two for your refund.
Corsair seems to have a VERY high ratio of satisfaction. That is what I am buying next.
Cant believe such an important brand like PNY allows itself such a poor quality control.

Not sure what the issue was. This ram is labeled as for use with mac, not that it should have to be labeled when using with intel apple computers, but it is also labeled to run at 1067mhz, which is what both my iMac and MacBook pro run at. I bought 4 sticks (2 packages) of this ram and couldn’t get 4 sticks to boot on my iMac, in any ram slot configuration, I swapped them out and changed them around without success. I then tried booting with just 2 sticks with success. I was also able to run 2 sticks of the PNY with 2 sticks of my more expensive Corsair ram. However, I was really hoping to get all 4 of the PNY up and running so I could move the Corsair sticks into my MacBook Pro.
I then figured I’d let my iMac run with the 2 sticks of Corsair, and 2 sticks of PNY and move the other 2 PNY sticks to my MacBook Pro. Couldn’t get them to boot. So at this point I figured that maybe one of the sticks was bad as I was unable to get the 4 sticks in any combination to boot on the iMac – swapped out the pair with Amazon, and even with a fresh pair of ram sticks couldn’t get them to boot in the macbook pro. With the sticks installed, the computer would boot up, get to the spinning icon before load, then freeze up.
I was about to contact amazon again to return the 2 new sticks for a refund, when my iMac had some serious system error which forced me to restart. I had been running the 2 sticks of PNY + 2 sticks of Corsair successfully for about 6 days, with great performance both gaming with Call of Duty 2: MW, and photo editing with Adobe Photoshop. After this forced restart, one by one my programs started to not work, corrupt data. Until a point where I couldn’t keep my computer running. Removed the PNY sticks, and left the Corsair sticks running, and the computer started up, and worked ok, minus all the corrupt programs that wouldn’t load anymore. So somewhere this ram when bad whilst using it. Disappointed. I ended up returning for a refund to Amazon – all four sticks.
I had contacted PNY. In my original email, I stated very clearly, what computers I was using, what version of OSX I was on, and what item #/Model# of ram I was using – and the ONLY reply back from PNY was a response asking for all the information I had sent in already. SO I replied back with that info, again, with no response after several days. At that point I contacted again, with the same info, and stating I had already tried contacting with no support response. Gave it 2 more days with no response, and at that point returned to Amazon.com. Still haven’t received any response from PNY, over a month later.

Upgrading RAM in computers is always the first thing that I do when they start to get slow or begin to develop problems that I have determined to be NOT hardware related. In this specific case, the computer (Lenovo N585 2GB RAM) display began flickering, which could be a hardware issue with the screen or the connector. But before I decide to go through the hassle of warranty work, I upgraded the RAM from the previous 2 GB to now 4GB and the flickering has stopped. This is something that is somewhat common in computers that are only running 2GB RAM. There just isn’t enough RAM there to run the Operating System (Windows 8) as well as Office, Norton (which doesn’t work too bad on this computer) and a couple other programs, and then the graphics card. The computer just chokes. Now that I have upgraded the RAM, the problem is no longer present, and I can now guarantee that the problem was caused by a lack of RAM.
Whenever I upgrade RAM, I 9 out of 10 times will use PNY RAM. I don’t think that I really have a rhyme or reason, but that is what I have been using for the past 3 years and I am never disappointed.
