    Love this TT. Lots of ohhs and ahhs from guests even before it spins-up. Then, when the real show starts, everyone is amazed. I think I should be getting a commission from Pro-Ject for all the sales generated! I can’t recommend this beauty enough. Note that in the picture, I have replaced the supplied platter with an upgraded acrylic platter.

    incredible quiet turn table. the turntable mass is high enough to prevent speaker feedback. the tone looks ordinary but looks are deceiving, the tone arm performs great and is better than arms 10 times the cost. I highly recommend this turntable. i’m using a Soundsmith strain gauge cartridge in this turntable and the S/N exceeds the best vinyl cutter capabilities.

    A beautiful looking turntable. Love the minimalist approach here, love the tonearm and Sumiko Pearl cartridge combo. As with all turntables, there are pro’s and cons but for the asking price I am very happy with my purchase and would easily recommend this. It is relatively quiet operationally speaking. I do think that it is ridiculous something this nice doesn’t come with a dust cover, something i knew going in and that is a minor infraction considering the qualities of this turntable.
    Give the Sumiko Pearl a little break in time, I have read between 20 and 50 hours….either way, I really enjoy the overall sound on display here. In a funny twist, I have reverted to using my vintage 1979 Pioneer SX 680 receiver with this table and the sound is better than with the NAD it was being run thru previously. Gonna upgrade to the leather mat as well as the Ortofon Blue when monies become available.

    I Bought the red color one, first please note it ships with Sumiko Pearl cartridge (as in specs) and not the A. Red in the photo, the Sumiko Pearl is the better sounding one but require about 50Hr break-in time before giving its best, the turn table with the carbon fiber tone arm looks and sounds far beyond its price tag, thank you Pr-Ject

    Das ist mein zweiter Project. Die Verarbeitung ist sehr hochwertig und das Design wirklich aussergewöhnlich. Der Plattenspieler kitzelt nochmal Feinheiten raus, die ich so auf meinen Lieblingsplatten nicht gehört habe. Ich hatte nur einen Technics Standard hier. Der Phonoverstärker NAD, Verstärker creek 5250 se. Passt alles super zusammen. Volltreffer. Ich war erst skeptisch, weil ich noch keine gute Erfahrungen mit Ortofon Systemen habe. Achso: Nach dem Aufstellen und Anschliessen……habe ich verzweifelt das System und die Nadel gesucht……und habe auch schon den Lieferanten verrückt gemacht. Ich habe das System mit der Schutzkappe abgezogen …..und erst spät bemerkt. Es gibt so Tage…..

    This is kind of a showpiece turntable, and I got it for two reasons:
    1. It’s cool looking and earned decent marks for its sound;
    2. The footprint is small enough that it could fit it in an old Sears Silvertone console that I might refurbish.

    What I didn’t anticipate is the motor being a completely separate piece, so when you move this thing you’ll have to potentially mind four pieces – the platter, the body, the motor and the belt. If you grab it on the underside you can move the body and the platter at the same time but you’ll want to make sure you take the belt off. Now once you get it settled this isn’t that big of a deal but until then it’s a hassle. It’s also a little front heavy. It won’t tip while it’s playing, but it’s closer than one would think. Biggest gripe is the switch to turn it on – it’s very small, located on the motor right next to the belt, and has a fairly cheap feel to it. Because of the design I’m not sure where else one would put it but it makes me want to create my own kill switch that has a more elegant look to it. Aesthetics aside, this would also help prevent rubbing your finger against the fairly thin belt, which I’m sure I’ll be replacing at some point.

    This unit is a breeze to setup and really separates all the moving pieces to ensure no interruptions to sound.

    I recieved the turntable damaged upon arrival. The stylus had been shared off and the tonearm had been twisted. From what I could tell the internal packing foam had been compromised. It was either that or it was an open box that had not been correctly put back in the box. It looked very sexy its too bad I never got to listen to it. I returned it and instead decided to spend a little more and pick up the new rega planar 2. I’m hopeing the build quality is better than the rpm 1.

    Having been away from record players for almost 40 years this is one nice unit. Playback is awesome and esthetics is futuristic. Re-enjoying my records that I still have.

    Ein sehr guter Plattenspieler, nur ist nach 14 Tagen der Riemen gerissen und ich musste mir einen neuen bestellen. Aber ansonsten wirklich gut

    I wanted a record player as I’ve been without one for 30 years… yet I have kept a core bunch of LPs which are still in good nick… mostly. Anyway I didn’t want too cheap a player… otherwise the vinyl magic would not be heard, So I went for this, driven by a nice Arcam Amplifier (A90) and Dali Opticon 2 bookshelf speakers (on stands of course) and some mighty fine copper crystal cables from Atlas. Anyway, it delievers the vinyl experience.. honestly even CDs sound good on this system… and vinyl better… nah CD cannot quite replicate the warmth and body of tone you get from LP records. So this RPM 1 Carbon player does exactly what I wanted… though accurate setup can be daunting for the beginner. Get yourself a little digital scale that can measure the downward force of the stylus (1.8 grams) and set tracking to match at about 1.8 ; for the height of the tonearm I just left it at the factory setting… and good to go. Upgrading the mat, platter, stylus (I bought a 2M Blue – which has more focus in the sound and tightness in the bass) and cleaning your records greatly improves the sound further… upgrades galore… but don’t overspend. Somehow I find new Classical Music Vinyl expensive and hard to find… hopefully it’s all meant to be taking off ! ps. Amazon gave this to a 3rd party to deliver, and it was packed well, so no problems with delivery which made me a little nervous since they don’t always deliver books undamaged… anyway no compaints so far. I bought this particular player because a larger one would not fit in the space I have available… I need to construct a solid patform for it now.
