The Sax card is well made. Sturdy and offering excellent protection to the horn. The fit for my Yamaha horn is just right; snug the way it should be. The color (I opted for blue) is really nice, unique, just the right hue, not too loud.

Overall, I am very happy with this purchase!

It fits both of the Alto Saxophones I’ve been using, and it keeps my sax, neck, and mouthpiece/ligature firmly and protectively in place. It also has several pockets where I can safely keep my reed boxes, tuner, neck strap and other accessories safely. Even two slots for pencils (and as my wise director from years ago used to say, “I’d rather you show up without your instrument than show up without a pencil”). So I really like this case. Plus, other than begin very functional, it just looks nice and professional as well. I haven’t purchased the “backpack” option, but it comes with a shoulder strap that is strong and functional.

I’m a casual alto sax player and I frequently play with a friend who’s on keyboards. Since the keys are fixed at his home, I’m the one who always travels back and forth, and I had been using a soft sided gig bag with a cushioned interior. Well, I learned that this type of case provides some protection, but not much. A bump against the door, a thump while getting out of the car, a tip-over onto the floor…these little things rattle the valves and springs. After 2 repairs within 8 months I decided to invest in a better case and I bought this one a few weeks ago. It is fantastic. Sturdy and firm, it’s heavier than a soft case but much lighter than the original hard case that the horn came in. Lots of storage space with big zip pouches on both sides. My sax, neck and mouthpiece go inside the case. In the outer pockets fit my swabs, cleaning rags, eyeglasses, neck strap, reeds, reed geek, ligature and there’s even room for more. The horn stays snuggly in place. There is little to no wiggle room for all the important gear. I highly recommend this case.

Works well. I especially like the backstops. I expected it to be a little bit lighter, but at least I will protect my sax.

I ordered this on 19 December, hoping it would arrive in time for Christmas, even though Amazon said it might not

I had an unprompted email from the seller to check with me if it was a Christmas present, so that he could despatch it in time. I am totally blown away by this level of customer service.

He was concerned that my chosen colour (blue) would arrive too late, so gave me other options to choose from. In the end, he managed to get a blue one, post it the same day and it arrived on 21 December.

The case itself is beautifully made, very practical and worth every penny.

I really could not rate this seller highly enough!

We purchased a Protec case to replace a broken hard shell case for my son’s tenor sax, and decided to buy one for my other son’s alto sax for which we had a worn out soft shell case. These cases beat both of our other cases.

    – very smart looking case available in multiple colors. My kids liked choosing their color.
    – Exterior is a very sturdy-looking fabric.
    – Contoured design gives the instrument adequate protection while minimizing the bulk of the case. Most rectangular cases are bulky.
    – Internal storage is sufficient for all of the components of the sax as well as some cleaning supplies. There is an additional zippered storage compartment on the outside of the case which provides more than sufficient additional storage. Very convenient and easy to access.
    – there are handles on the top and end of the case, which make it very easy to move around in tight spaces.
    – Shoulder strap makes it easy to carry. We bought the additional “backpack straps,” which we thought would make the instrument easier to carry walking to and from school, but the boys don’t use them.
    – plastic “feet” on the bottom and end protect the fabric while the case is sitting on the ground, and allow you to stand it on end, which is nice for storage.

The best sax case I’ve ever owned. It’s better than other pro cases twice or 3x its price, so it’s still a great deal.

I bought an early model in 2012 for $120. Besides the above I also like:
    – Excellent heavy-duty zippers
    – Quality stitching
    – Handles on the side and top
    – strong plastic “legs” so the case doesn’t actually touch the ground when you put it down..
    – soft padding inside
    – strong latches on the strap
    – optional backpack strap

The new models have larger pockets with an organizer and the top handle is also larger. This company listens to its customers.

    Highly recommended!

I no longer have to carry my son’s saxophone into his lessons. My 12-year-old son is small and did not like carrying the heavy leather case that came with his professional model saxophone. He carries the music and his oboe; I carried the sax. He LOVES the new case and the blue color. He always wants to carry the sax AND the oboe now. I just carry the check book ๐Ÿ˜‰ He would like to take the case to school, but he has an old beater that he keeps at school and does not have to transport it.

My son’s private lesson teacher is very picky, but he really likes this case. It is structurally very rigid, but has a soft feel on the outside and is still very light weight. I was nervous about getting a soft-side style case for this expensive instrument, but I have no concerns with this one. There is more than enough storage, including zipper pockets on both the bottom side and top sides. We bought an optional backpack strap. It would work great if you had to carry it for quite a distance or ride a bike, but for short trips it is easier to just use the nicely padded sling shoulder strap. The case also has feet that will allow it to stand upright or on its side, keeping the cover off the floor.

This was truly a great find. Good value, protection, look, and feel.

This Protec alto saxophone case, which I purchased in the extra large version appears to be very well made. My 1920’s Fischer (Buescher made) alto saxophone with the split bell keys fits perfectly. It’s a snug, but not too tight a fit. The neck and mouthpiece internal storage compartments work well, too.

The outside pockets, I will use for swabs, etc. All of the zippers are YKK, which are a top shelf zipper, if my memory serves me correctly.

Lastly, the feet are in the right locations. You can even stand it up with the saxophone inside, and it does not tip over.

I’ll buy the extra large tenor version of this Protec case for my C-Melody Martin saxophone, too.

I had to replace the 60 yr old case that came with my 1960s Buescher Saxophone. Not only did my alto fit in the case but the extra pockets for a flute work great to hold my saxophone harness and my small repair kit. I purchased separately the backpack straps which make it easier to carry when I have other items.
