made in spain good quality… I like the finish did the first job very will
Amanda Grey –
They were smaller than I expected. Great durable product though.

Union Carpenter tested and failed.
Clamp came so tight, even with lubrication, the mechanism is tight, and it does not spring open.
Threaded adjustment knob with the nut to lock it is a mess. The clamp goes in and out of my tool belt pouch all day, the nut moves constantly and the adjustment knob also loosens up. Sometimes the nut blocks me clamp from closing, design flaw.
Compared to the irwin c clamps, these are very inefficient for commercial metal framing.
However I gave it 3stars because if you are using this as a stationary clamp, doing wood/welding work it would be excellent. Over twice the price of irwins for half the value.

This is going to be just my initial review upon opening the package and playing with these. I have not used them for work yet.
So…my first thought was wow, they’re miniature! I had no idea they would be so small. When they say 6-8/11 (whatever the hell that means,) they really mean that these are 6 3/4 inches long and have a maximum jaw opening of 2 1/4 inches. Take a look at the photo I uploaded to get a better idea of the size. I really only need to clamp about 1 3/4 to 2 inches of material so I’m going to keep them and test their strength.
The other thing I want to mention is that these are really just rebranded Grab-ons….which is a good thing. Grab-on is the same company that Snap-on and Blue Point (and Napa and others) chose to rebrand for their own. The tools are made in Spain and have generally received very positive reviews. This will be my first Grab-on manufactured tool, so I will report back later. Also noteworthy is the Stanley/Proto website claim: “WE ARE MADE IN AMERICA” albeit with a disclaimer at the end: “And in the rare instance when we can’t make a tool in America, we do so because… again, making the highest quality tools comes first.” This is that rare exception apparently. That’s fine. I bought these noting the similarities to Grab-on and sure enough they are the same.
