This machine is an instant hit with kids who have any inclination to pencil-tap or get into percussion. I was amazed at how simple the setup was (literally took 2 minutes). The included manual is detailed enough to get through setup with ease. The machine is of high quality, especially the drum pads and appears that it will take a good beating either when using drum sticks or your fingers.

The outstanding feature that any parent will appreciate is the ability to play using headphones. The volume levels are good enough even when set to low volumes to enjoy the music via headphones. The other feature I enjoyed was the ability to turn on hand-percussion and increase the sensitivity of the pads to use hands instead of sticks. The voices included are of great quality and it sounds just like you are playing real drums. I’m hoping my 12 year-old will get to enjoy using its many features to learn and practice different beats.

It would be terrific if Pyle can invest some effort into producing a quality video on Youtube or directly on their website to enumerate and demonstrate the many features of this machine, especially since they have a few other machines that largely use the same features. For example, the section on how to download and load your own samples is not discussed in any detail, although the feature exists. This would increase the versatility of young aspiring drummers using this machine!

Overall, this is a very fine product and should instantly gratify kids aspiring to be drummers.

This is a great machine. It has many different sounds. The drum sticks are included. I did a lot of research before buying and this was my choice. I would recommend it to you. My only problem is I live in an apartment and it’s very noisy. I bought earphones. Make sure you buy earphones with the large stereo attachment to plug it in.

I’m a new drummer, but have been a performing musician and sound tech for decades so I know quality sound. I’ve only had this kit for about an hour but am already very impressed with it. The sounds it produces are high quality, someone could actually gig with this if they wanted to. I’m talking about running it through a P.A. system, which is what I’m doing with it. The pads have a little bounce to them so it feels something like a real drum head. A lot of reviewers have had trouble with the pedals double triggering but I’m not having that problem. I think they actually have a pretty good response once you get used to them. They do need to be velcroed to floor so they don’t move around. I haven’t explored everything this kit has to offer yet but it is for sure a nice inexpensive set to learn to drum on. I really like having the internal songs that you can play to also. I’m very happy with it.

As a newbie drummer, I needed something to bang on in our second home and this is perfect. The sounds are amazing of the different beats, and it truly is made well, very durable for its price! It’s easy to move around, you can play any genre of music with it, and it would make a perfect gift for someone in love with drums.

Item works great has lots and lots of features lot of great pre set kits and the ability to set your own the pre programed backing tracks and option to adjust speed and turn on and off different parts of those tracks is a lot of fun to practice with.
Negatives the pedals are cheap and little hard to use i haven’t tried adhering them with Velcro maybe to hold in place but there very sensitive and get lots of miss hits.
The training or flow mode of the pre set tracks is supper hard to follow the lights at a decent tempo
Over all highly recommend for the price this is a great practice tool the pads are great and supper sensitive and has great sound overall.

My 10-year-old son and I are new to drums. We always wanted to learn drums, but we could never fulfill our dream due to the paucity of space at home and expensive drum kits. Then we saw this on Amazon, and after some research, this product seemed like the best fit for our budget and a small home. I gifted myself this drum kit on my 42nd birthday, and we have been super happy with the build quality, sound quality, and features. The only thing I wish could have been better is the base pedal, which is too sensitive to touch and gets pressed multiple times, even if you intend to press it once. It is far away from the actual acoustic drum pedal. I wish there was an after market accessory available that could be attached to the drums.

I have a 5 piece acoustic drum set however I wanted something movable and user friendly to practice on. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and sound and extra functions on this Pyle kit. It’s a sturdy well built unit. Fits on a snare stand which is a great bonus. Instructions are easy to follow and panel is clearly labelled. I love the capability of being able to change each pad to a sound you like ie rock, jazz etc, and the song feature which lets you pick a genre then remove the drum track so you can hone your skills. The click and tempo are easy to use and a great feature. This unit encompasses everything a person could want whether new to drums or experienced. As mentioned in other reviews, the only reason I didn’t give this a 5 is because of the kick pedal. Way to sensitive. Had immediate double notes. I had an old ‘rock band’ set and took the pedal from that, plugged it into the Pyle kit and it works perfect. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend purchasing this Pyle kit, just be aware of the pedal issue.

As a non-musician with a deep appreciation for music, I thought this might be a fun toy. It’s beyond that. As the reviews reveal, the pedals are the weak point, and they can easily be improved quite a bit. I simply bought an eight-dollar rubber-backed front door mat and added “hook” side Velcro to the bottom of each pedal. I put the floor mat down where I’m playing the drum kit and stick the pedals onto it, keeping them in place. To get more realistic control, you can spend extra cash and rig a real kick drum pedal with a home-made switch to work the drum kit’s kick drum. There are lots of on-line videos to help get a basic understanding of drumming and drum technique. Have fun!

The actual drums and pads work terrific and have a great sound. The biggest issue I have is with the foot pedals that control the bass drum and the hi-hat. They are total trash. This is the main reason I am giving it three stars instead of five. On both of the pedals, it will do double triggers if you don’t pull your foot completely off of the pedal. This is totally unrealistic in using a bass drum or a hi-hat. Now I’m going to have to spend $50 or more to buy a different pedal that does not have this problem. That is the only thing that is keeping me from loving this drum machine.

I was debating getting an electronic drum set vs this portable electronic drum kit, and I am so glad that I purchased the Pyle drum kit. This is so much fun to play, the kit selection, voices and ability to create your own kits are incredible and the ability to customize your sound is a great attribute of this product. However, the thing that I found most beneficial as a latin percussionist were the incredible amount of percussion voices. The clave, cowbell, bongos and congas sound great, and there are many tom selections to simulate a timbale sound. The only negative is the kick drum pedal, it is truly terrible, triggers two sounds with one pedal press, however, I purchased a different pedal on amazon, HXW PDL-HH191 Footswitch Hi-hat/Bass Drum Pedal Beaterless Silent Pedal For PD705 Percussion Pad, it works great with this kit. I only use this with headphones, not sure how it will sound “live” but this is so much fun to practice with!!!!
