オフセットが短いものが欲しくて購入しました。値上げできついですが、ハンドルとお揃いのメーカーでなので…。強度と見た目は、満足です。

First, in case this review is lumped in with the 35x50x0 1-1/8 this stem is just fine for Aluminum or Carbon fiber bars. Another reviewer says the four bolt design will hurt Carbon Fiber bars. That is flat out wrong. Looking closely at the one piece faceplate you can see that the inside contact patch with the bars goes further than where the bolts are. I have a 35x50x0 and this 35x35x0 stem on Yeti carbon fiber 760 bars and that has had 5+ 1-2 hour rides and Its taken as much stress as I could sent it. No problems. The Other Atlas stem is on my Wife’s Stumpjumper Pro which has RaceFace Next Carbon fiber bars. This stem is fine for any 35mm clamp diameter bars. After seeing that post I checked with my mobile Pro Mechanic and he agreed that “not for Carbon Fiber bars is wrong.”
This is RaceFaces toughest stem, Enduro, All Mountain and especially DH per raceface.com. This stem looks great and the contour lines pair up perfectly with their Atlas pedals. I’ve had a get off once or twice and the stem stayed true, no problems there. The design holds 35mm clamp bars very well and has nice markers/indicators to indicate the degrees you are setting your bars, 6, 3, 0, -3, -6. That’s a nice extra feature not found on the Turbine-R, Turbine, or Affect stems. In addition the four face plate bolts are self locking bolts for added security. This is a very nice stem and highly recommended. (New bike takeoffs, the Turbine-R and Affect)
In the late 90s, early 00s, I had a RaceFace stem with a similar design to the Affect, two seperate vertical clamps. One failed on a hard big drop landing and I ended up with a bad crash. So the full clamping face of the Atlas was a purchase to replace the Affect on my Yeti before I rode it. The Atlas stem will weigh a bit more but has much more contact to the bars for clamping and has given me a lot of confidence when sending it hard. Highly recommended.
Pluses: Everything you would consider in a stem.
Cons: weight weenies will be concerned about the grams when compared to other stems.
