This book was probably my favorite book of hollly Jackson’s thus far. I could not put it down. I love the twist ! It was perfect.
E. J. Hughes –
Rachel disappeared 16 years before, leaving her toddler in the backseat of a car on a very cold winter’s night. The disappearance of a woman Bel doesn’t remember has haunted her whole life. When Rachel reappears just as a true crime documentary is being filmed, Bel’s life is thrown into disarray as she tries to piece together the mystery of her mother.
Bel has isolated herself and her world revolves around her father who had been charged with her mother’s murder. None of the extended Price family seems to know how to react and Bel’s suspicious nature has her questioning her mother’s explanation for her disappearance.
As the story moves along, Bel begins to question the her own memories and life as she hunts down the clues to determine her next step in life.
I will say that despite the intriguing story, the characters aren’t all that fleshed out, which kept the story clipping along nicely. Despite the emotions that are described, there isn’t a deep dive take into the psychological effects; they are shown, not told. There are no “sly” mentions of political opinions or criticism of cultural norms, which was a relief.
A clever book and I would recommend.

4.5 / 5 ✨
I ate this book up, devoured it in a day and loved every second of it.
This is my first Holly Jackson read and she had me hooked from the first page. It’s been a while since I’ve had a book where I just kept going because I had to get answers to what was going on.
This was such an enjoyable read, I loved the pacing, the twists and turns and I liked every characters place in the story. It all was so perfectly put together like a puzzle, everything had its place.
I gasped several times and suspected everyone, which is the sign of a good mystery to me. The ending was 10/10, I can’t recommend this one enough.
I am now so excited to start AGGGTM soon and read more of Holly’s writing.

Rarely do I find a hardcover edition of a book actually less expensive than the digital version, which is what I usually buy. But I am a big fan of Holly Jackson’s writing. Her Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series was all the information I needed to know when I decided to get this new story from her. She’s an outstanding British author, and I’ve never been let down by her books since I started reading them. I highly suggest adding this to your book collection as well as her others if you haven’t already.

What should have been a page turner just dragged on way too long. The twists were good, the characters fairly interesting and if it been at least fifty pages shorter, it would have been a 4 or even 5 star review but as it is 3 feels generous to me.
LUCIANO JOSE NOGUEIRA DE MELO JUNIOR –
this is probably my favorite book i’ve ever read. the plot twists were so un expected and the outcome is not what you think at all i can guarantee you that.
Arisha Sattar –
I read the entire thing in one day, it was that good!
I loved the premise of a missing woman returning, especially after so long. I wasn’t a fan of the main character, Bel. She was just so…grating and rude. Even though I didn’t like her, I still was rooting for her to figure out what was going on.
The ending was so good and so so so unexpected but without being ridiculous or unbelievable, but I could have done without some of the plot. There was a part where the plot started to move incredibly slow but the ending made up for that!
Book_withquotes –
While the plot is full of twists and turns, some readers may find the pacing uneven. However, the strong character development and the satisfying conclusion make up for any minor flaws. Overall, The Reappearance of Rachel Price is a thrilling and well-crafted mystery that will leave readers wanting more.
Amanda –
I will read absolutely anything she writes! This book was so much fun and also kept me on my toes the whole time. Keep you guessing and gives you characters that you love to distrust.
Jake’s take –
I loved the Reappearance of Rachel Price. The book explores themes like the invasive nature of true crime documentaries, verbal abuse and how it can take form and repairing family bonds . Without spoilers the best part of the book is the strained relationship between Rachel and Bel and how Bel is always suspicious of Rachel and how even though they are family she at times feels like she barely knows Rachel since Rachel hasn’t been involved in their life and how the bond between them matures is what makes this a fascinating mother daughter bond. Also the family is very knives out like and how that is explored is very well done and realistic. I also like the close bond Bel has with Carter and how even when they disagree they always find a way back to caring for one another and to look out for each other. Overall the theme of the book about who is truly family to a person is what makes it effective because as a reader I was invested in what would happen to these characters because the connections they had made that possible and what bel comes to learn about members of her family is what creates that ability to care and the ability to somewhat relate as we all have moments where we find the people that actually care. I also like that the book keeps you in suspense and you never can truly predict what will be revealed in the twists there are times where like bel I as a reader didn’t know who to trust and that made me want to keep reading. Truly great books make you not ever want to stop reading them always wanting to see what happens next and that’s exactly what this book did for me. I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves being kept in suspense and loves themes on what it truly means to be family.

The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson is a book that should be on your reading list ASAP!!!
Mystery, secrets, hidden truths, family, and lies in one book, Holly Jackson did it again. I couldn’t stop reading it once I picked it up, I needed it to know what could happen to our main protagonist, Bel (Anabel) Price, a character with that I totally empathize and I feel every moment with her, I was so concern of her well-being because it was too much to deal.
A total recommendation on my part.
