I love the sound of this chakra drum (toung). It didn’t come with instructions for a beginner. I don’t know what some of the little things are that came with it? But after trial and error by taking it in the rain (and removing the rubber piece on the bottom) I was mesmerized. The sound was beautiful. First time I’ve sat outside during a rain in a long time! Love it!

Upon playing the one tongue ruined it because the sound is so off. Now I have to return.

For the size and money it delivers fairly well. Tone was a concern, but it even though it is a mass produced product it has an overall good tone. I gave it 4 out of 5 as two of the notes are seem difficult to hit the right spot without being off tone or ‘fuzzy’. Great for beginners and decent for the price.

To play it, however, be prepared to go against your presumption that it will produce clear sounds if you simply strike it. Another amazon reviewer said that all the notes sound the same, and that is generally true if you hit it hard. But yet another reviewer has posted a video of themselves playing it and it should be noted how lightly they tap the drum. This is key to the sound. Im still getting the hang of it myself but once its struck the right way, the notes truly resonate in a distinct fashion. Its very much like those ringing bowls, you just have to find out how to do it before you realize it works as intended.
