I had recently bought this game because of how fondly I remember playing it on my PS2. It got here a lot earlier than I had expected and the game looked great! There was basically no scratches or any damage of any kind on the disc and it started up well. Except, I had a bit of a problem getting past the loading screen. My computer has Windows 8 and I can see that may have been the issue seeing as how this game isn’t exactly too new. All I actually had to do was create a new user and when I played it using that it worked! And very well too. Great game!

I got it just for modding. since it had standard and version 2 I thought standard was v1. nope its v2. I can’t even use the game for the reason I bought it.

I bought this as an almost new game Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. I really enjoy playing this game. The San Andreas world is massive and well thought out The vehicles can be very difficult to drive but over time you get used to their various excentricities. I would say this game and GTA Vice City are the two games that I really enjoy over a long period of time.
The glitch in San Andreas is very frustrating though. I have researched the online solutions and have not found one that solves it. The glitch can happen anytime in the game and causes the computer to crash. I had to turn off the power to the computer to get it started again.
I have the 2nd edition of the game on a DVD-ROM.

I missed playing this on ps2 with my brother and decided off a whim to just buy it for my personal pc at home for when Iโm bored. Iโve had so many nostalgic moments playing this in my free time it had brought some real happiness to enjoying my free time when I have nothing else to do and just play a few missions and reminisce

“What did you get?”
The obvious. Case, cover art for case, and of course the disc. I expected a map+wallpaper and a manual. It matters to me because the manuals that came with GTA Vice City, GTA III, and GTA San Andreas for the PS2/Xbox versions were really interesting. I enjoyed reading them as if they were actual guides into the worlds of Vice City, Liberty City, and San Andreas. Witty remarks, the list of soundtracks, and obviously the credits. If it’ll cost more, I would definitely buy it for a little more.
Note: I expected this to be version 1.0 but it’s version 2.0(Image included)
“Why not just get it cheap on Steam?”
I do have it on Steam. I thought this was version 1.0.
“Why does it matter that it’s version 1.0?”
There are bugs in this game that I want fixed that Rockstar hasn’t patched or fixed and there are fixes that the gaming/modding community have made but only work with version 1.0. Also, there are rarely any mods(are there any?) for version 2.0.
If you ever get the chance to get the true version 1.0 edition take it, instead of 2.0.
“Can I downgrade to version 1.0?”
Yes. Use a search engine (Google, Duckduckgo, etc) then search for “PC Gaming Wiki San Andreas”. The site will give you a lot of useful information.

I owned the Ps2 version when it came out, it broke a few years ago, so I decided to buy this for PC laptop. The game is still pretty sweet. If your not familar with pc gaming, it might take you sometime to get used to the mouse and keyboard. Sure you can set up a controller but why go through that headache? WASD and the computer keys work just fine. Mouse makes it easier to aim. The first time you play, just take time adjusting to the controls before you get too involved in serious missions.
If you have windows 7, it might take you sometime to set up the game apparently. It took 2 hours to set up the game, simply because the game was designed for xp or whatever. Installing it make sure anti virus doesnt block it, it may do so without alerting you, it helps to have programs like windows task open and put the install wizard in the background. after its installed, make sure to adjust the properties to windows 7 or service pack 3 if it continues to crash, or possibly look for mods to help with that if the problem persists. Make sure to run the game as an Admin.
When clicking on the icon on desktop the error that the disc is not in or incorrect might appear is a bug. instead, open the start menu, into the Rockstar folder and run the game as an admin, you should be prompted with a box asking if you want to allow this application access and whatnot, from there on the game should work fine.
Older games will have crashes every now and then on windows 7, you have to mess with it and configure or like i said mod it with unofficial patches. If you play with cheats just Bing the gtasa cheats for pc, you can get them off the gta website, and if you need more help, look at gtaforums.com and go to the SA section.

I had read mixed reviews about buying this game for Windows 7, certain graphics cards, and other such hardware requirements that usually meant a game would give me trouble when I attempted to run it. This game, other than temporarily changing my default desktop settings (which changed back once the game was exited) has run completely smooth without any hitches at all! I would STRONGLY recommend using a gaming controller for gameplay though — I was slightly motion sick playing with the default mouse settings, and failed several missions while trying to adjust to gameplay with mouse and keyboard controls.
This game is a bargain and a great addition to my PC game collection!
